About the Area

Morfa Nefyn Beach and Porthdinllaen (National Trust)

  • This is a long sandy bay and at low tide Porthdinllaen is but a short walk along the beach. This is a perfect little harbour hamlet - an idyllic cove with the added bonus of a cracking pub, The Ty Coch, voted the 3rd most popular beach bar in the world!

Porthdinllaen Cafe and local shops

  • Stroll across the road for a Fisherman's Breakfast or children's favourite, Americana Breakfast with bacon, pancake and maple syrup! Food is served throughout the day but bring your own wine for dinner. Highly recommended is the gastro pub, The Ship at Edern, just 1 mile away. The newly opened Truck Stop provides locally sourced meat, fish and vegetables, as does The Spar at Nefyn 1 mile away - both are excellent.

Coastal Path

  • Join the Coastal Path at the entrance of Morfa Nefyn beach. The views are spectacular and bursting with colour, blanketed with wild flowers in Spring and Summer. This is a perfect vantage point to observe the diverse bird life - if you are extremely lucky you may spot a chough with its curved red bill and legs. The chough is the emblem of the Lleyn Peninsula.

Plas Bodegroes

  • Plas Bodegroes is a Restaurant with rooms housed in a grade II listed Georgian manor house. The chef, Chris Chown, is one of North Wales's best. Book for a special treat and enjoy drinks on the rose covered veranda before dining in the picture perfect dining room with some interesting art work on display.

Nefyn Golf Club

  • Just a few yards away from this property, the Golf Club is set on the dramatic headland above Porthdinllaen and offers spectacular views of the Rival mountains and sublime bays. It is undoubtedly Wales's most photographed course - a round here is a must for any serious golfer.

  • Abersoch is full of bustle with restaurants and pubs, whose tables spill out onto the pavement making for a great atmosphere. In July it holds the Wakestock Festival - Europe's largest wake board music festival, and in August the Abersoch Regatta which, apart from all the serious sailing stuff, features raft-racing, crab catching and much more. Abersoch Jazz Festival is held every September and Glass Butter Beach Festival in July.
  • Aberdaron is the polar opposite. Situated at the very tip of the Peninsula. this remote whitewashed village is beautiful and boasts a glorious sandy beach. Eat out on the balcony of the Ty Newydd Hotel just above the beach and look across to 2 tiny islands - The Islands of the Gulls. Or enjoy award winning lobster and crab at the Ship Hotel opposite.
Porth y Swnt, Aberdaron National Trust
  • The National Trust has recently acquired large chunks of this coastline to deter development detrimental to this unique area. A new visitors centre, Porth y Swnt, has opened offering an introduction to local history and culture serving as a focal point from which to promote the area through audio, video and artwork presentations.
Boat Trips
  • Shearwater Cruises and Enlli Boat Charters leave from Pwllheli to explore the rugged coastline admiring a wealth of wildlife including seabirds, seals, dolphins and scenic beauty.
Bardsey Island
  • There are boat trips from nearby Porth Meudwy to Bardsey Island a place of natural beauty and pilgrimage where you can see a wealth of wildlife and the ruins of the Medieval Abbey, a delightful tranquil setting.
Cilan Riding Centre
  • Explore the beautiful Cilan Headland, An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on horseback. Suitable for experienced and novice adult and young riders.
Day Trips
  • Visit the Snowdonia National Park for breathtaking mountain and coastal scenery, nostalgic steam train rides, thrilling adventure activities, great local produce, fascinating industrial heritage and so much more.

Delightful beach cottage with direct access onto Morfa Nefyn beach suitable for families or friends sharing and 2 dogs at any time of year.
