Black Rock Sands is a beautiful beach by Porthmadog and, despite its name, has an expanse of soft, golden sands paired with grassy dunes, making it a fantastic family-friendly beach. The dunes have been named a Site of Special Scientific Interest, partially due to the multi-coloured headland rock. Our Black Rock Sands holiday cottages are located within walking distance of this two-mile beauty and are the perfect base for anyone who enjoys watersports such as kite surfing, kayaking and windsurfing!
When the tide is low, the exposed rock pools and craggy caves are ready to be explored, a perfect afternoon activity for the children before enjoying a picnic on the beach.
Aside from the beach, there is a plethora of places to explore in Porthmadog, including the breath-taking mountains of Snowdonia National Park, antique stores, bookshops, an 18-hole golf course and plenty of eateries serving fresh, local produce!
