Very well appointed - loved 2 fridges for all the booze ! Great having 2 lounge areas . Lovely that all rooms have own bathroom. Great outdoor space - we managed a badminton tournament on the lawn ! Only slight moan is that the upstairs seating is not especially comfortable .

Vivienne Smith - 1st October 2018

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable with lovely good quality bedding. Everything we needed available to use in the kitchen. We wanted separate bedrooms with ensuite facilities; all four bedrooms had bath/shower facilities. We were able to relax, cook nice food and enjoy the home from home comforts of this beautiful barn. Very handy to park outside the front door too. We had planned to sit upstairs in the large lounge with the wood burner on in the evenings but as the weather was warm and we both loved the snug, we sat there in the evenings with a nice glass of wine (or two !). We met the owner the day after we arrived and she couldn't have been more helpful, even offered to drive us to a pub or restaurant at night and collect us if we couldn't get a taxi ! The home made welsh cakes amd a bottle of fizz on arrival were very much appreciated and were divine. If we had to make any suggestions, it would be to have an extension plug facility in the snug room downstairs for charging telephones/tablets etc but this is not a criticism; just would have been handy. If you want a break away with all the comforts of home, this is just the place to go, we loved it and will be back !

Nicola and Ailee - 24th September 2018

An excellent rental where nothing has been spared. Delightful barn conversion and a pleasure to deal with the owners and management. Very well appointed. We would be happy to return.

Jacqui Burgess - 7th September 2018

Excellent accommodation, well thought out barn conversion and well presented. Owners next door, completely unobtrusive, but very helpful and friendly if asked anything.

Stephen Wallace - 26th August 2018

Excellently appointed holiday accommodation in peaceful surroundings. Spacious enough to give privacy to all. Appreciated being able to bring our dog and was pleased to find Gower generally a dog friendly place. Plenty of places to visit, beautiful beaches and great pubs.

Y Southall - 27th July 2018

We were the first people to use the cottage and would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Perfect in all aspects Shame about the weather!

About the Area

Rhossili Beach and Worms Head

  • Stride out onto one of Wales's most iconic walks with stunning views of the golden sands of Rhossili to the towering limestone cliffs of the south Gower coast.
  • Always great for lunch is The Bay Bistro. Stunning views from every table of Rhossili Beach and home-made cakes. When the tide is low you can see the bones of The Helvitea shipwreck reaching out through the sands.

Three Cliffs Bay

  • Three Cliffs is one of Gowers' most iconic beaches and it is easy to see why. The river valley leading down to the sea is complete with castle, salt marshes and sand dunes. The Tor Headland is popular with climbers who can often be seen at dizzying heights - hilgh above the sea. There are stepping stones to cross the river on the Penmaen side of the bay (west) but watch out that the tide doesn't cut off your return! The beach has a seasonal lifeguard station - please take care with children and dogs. The Wales Coastal Path can be accessed from here and continues right around Gower.

Gower Coast Adventures - Boat Trips (May to September)

  • Book a boat trip on a large RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to explore the Gower coast from Mumbles to Worms Head. Passengers are picked up and dropped off at Knab Rock, Port Eynon and Oxwich to be taken along the coast on a trip of a lifetime to spot grey seals, porpoises and dolphins as well as seabirds including Razorbills and Guillemots (June and July), Gannets and Sheerwaters.

The Gower Coast Path

  • Forming part of the fabulous All Wales Coast Path, this section of path threads itself along the entire peninsula with castles, beaches, rugged cliffs, ancient churches, fascinating caves once used by smugglers and a wealth of wildlife to explore.
  • Whether you want a gentle stroll or a longer hike, this is a beautiful and spectacular setting.

The Bay Rider

  • A fun family favorite the land train runs between Southend Gardens in Mumbles and the Blackpill Lido on bank holidays and throughout the summer.

Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre

  • Enjoy a host of sporting activities near Oxwich beach. Experience archery sessions indoors or out (suitable for those of 6 years and older). This centre is a must for bird lovers too with 38 birds of prey on display and opportunities for meeting and holding some of them.

Oystermouth Castle, Mumbles

  • Majestically overlooking Oystermouth Bay, this is one of Wales' finest castles. Explore parts that have been hidden away for centuries and learn about the castle's exciting history. There is a new aeriallbridge with a birds eye view. Events are held throughout the year.

Mumbles Village

  • Mumbles village is worth a day trip. Walk along the promenade to reach the Pier and ice cream parlours at Knab Rock. Stop off at Pierres Bistro along the way, or maybe take a cocktail at La Perilla on the glass rood terrace.
  • Verdis Italian Ice Cream Parlour is a perfect place to stop for coffee.
  • There are many retail oppportunities to distract you ranging from high-end shops and independent boutiques to art galleries.

The National Show Caves of Wales

  • First discovered in 1912 by the Morgan Brothers, Dan-yr-Ogof Show caves are filled with beauty and natural wonders. You will be amazed by the famous formations - the “Rasher of Bacon”, the heavenly “Angel” and the “Alabaster Pillar” in the Dan yr Ogof Cave. Fantastic for little ones - over 220 life-sized dinosaur models in the Dinosaur Park.

Pembrey Country Park

  • Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coast of Carmarthen Bay, Pembrey Country Park is one of Wales's top visitor attractions providing a blend of coast and countryside.
  • Lots of attractions including 8 miles of sandy beach, the longest toboggan run in Wales, 130 meter-long dry ski slope, giant adventure playground, wildlife trails etc.
