About Stepping Stones
Within strolling distance of fabulous Three Cliffs Bay, Stepping Stones is a super user friendly cottage, one of four,  for beach holidays and exploring the glorious Gower Peninsula. An ideal choice for families or friends sharing. Pet dogs are welcome too.
  • The small village of Parkmill is at the "Gateway to Gower'.  In Spring this pretty valley is overrun with bluebells and wild garlic flowers, in Summer the dappled shade of the pretty woodland comes to life.  The autumn brings stunning colours to the trees and empty beaches.  The sounds of the sea can be heard on stormy winter nights.  This cottage truly is an all year destination.
  • This modern well-equipped cottage was built with an eye to practicality.  Underfloor heating and tiled floors are easy care and a welcome touch on the ground floor and upstairs bedrooms are warm and cozy.
  • The kitchen area is well equipped with hob, full oven and microwave.  There is a stowaway dining table should you require it.  The shower room is on the ground floor.
  • There is no private outside space but the cottage is less than a minute from the woods and river walk, dog-friendly all year round.

Practical well-equipped and user friendly cottage for carefree holidays in a beautiful coastal location location.
About The Area

Parc Le Breos

  •  A ten minute walk will take you to the picturesque green cwm with its neolithic Severn valley tomb and Cathole cave where in 2011 the oldest known cave art in North Western Europe was discovered.

Three Cliffs Bay

  • Three Cliffs is one of Gowers' most picturesque beaches, and it's not hard to see why. The valley leading down to the sea complete with castle, the salt marshes and the sand dunes, and the three cliffs themselves makes this destination unique. The cliffs are popular with climbers, and what a location, you can actually walk underneath the cliffs through an archway. There are stepping stones to cross the river on the Penmaen side of the bay (west), but watch the tide to get back. The beach has a seasonal lifeguard station, please take care with children and dogs.

Gower Heritage Centre

  • Visitor Centre and Rural Life Museum set in the grounds of a 12th century water mill. Lots of family entertainment including craft activities, craft shops, games arcade, animal park, sandpit, adventure playground, soft play, tractor play area and Wales smallest cinema. Family friendly events are hosted throughout the year.

The Gower Inn, Parkmill

  • Cross the road and take the short stroll up river to this family classic pub serving honest pub fare and seasonal menus. Enjoy a sunny jar on the terrace listening to the river babble along.

Mumbles Lifeboat Station

  • The Mumbles Lifeboat Station has a remarkable history of bravery stretching over 170 years. It's crews have been presented with 33 awards for gallantry. The station has also witnessed tragedy with 18 lifeboat crew losing their lives saving others at sea. A humbling place to visit! The new lifeboat station completed in 2014 sits alongside the original building, now preserved in remembrance of all those who lost their lives at sea.

Rhossili Beach and Worms Head

  • Journey out along one of Wales's most iconic cliff walks with breathtaking views of the golden sand of Rhossili to the rugged limestone rocks of the south Gower coast. Stop off on your return for lunch at The Bay Bistro. A simply stunning view from every table of beautiful Rhossili Beach and home made treats. If the tide is out you will even see the bones of The Helvicta wreck reaching out through the sands.
  • Restored by your lunch take the challenging walk to the highest point on Gower and a descent onto one of the most iconic beaches in Wales. Burial chambers, radar stations and shipwrecks are only some of the highlights you will pass along the way.   Watch the surfers ride the waves.  If you fancy a lesson head over to Llangenith and Ask PJ at his Surf Shop, he will fit you out with all you need to get up and riding. Or if retail therapy is more up your street there are gift shops and a National Trust Shop here.

Blackpill Lido

  • Enjoy a family day out at Swansea's outdoor water park. The huge paddling pool has fountains, water jets and even a beach. There is a children's play area, a giant bouncy castle, picnic spot, climbing rock and the Junction Cafe.

Bay Rider

  • A family favourite this is a super land train that runs between Southend Gardens in Mumbles and the Blackpill Lido on bank holidays and throughout the summer.

Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre

  • Enjoy a range of activities close to Oxwich beach. Experience archery sessions indoors or out (suitable for those of 6 years and older). This centre is a must for bird lovers too with 38 birds of prey on display and opportunities for meeting and holding some of them.

Swansea Market

  • Visit Swansea Market for authentic Welsh delicacies. Laverbread and freshly gathered cockles have been served by generations of well known 'cockle ladies'. Try hot fresh Welsh cakes, straight from the bake stone. Absolutely delicious.

The Plough and Harrow, Bishopston

  • Winner of the  Gastropub of the Year 2016 - Food Awards Wales, Winner - Best Pub in West Glamorgan 2016 - The National Pub & Bar Awards and Top 100 Sunday Lunches in UK 2016 - The Times Newspaper. This gem of a pub is small and friendly, consistently turning out fantastic seasonal food.  Evening booking essential to avoid disappointment. 10 minutes by car.

The Beach House, Oxwich Bay

  • You simply cannot miss dining at Gowers' newest hip hangout.  A stunning  location right on the bay at Oxwich. The Beach House serves a pared down menu with exquisite yet simple flavours.  A welcome addition to the group which includes The Grove at Narberth and  Coast at Saundersfoot.

The Dylan Thomas Centre

  • Swansea is the birthplace of Dylan Thomas,. The Dylan Thomas Centre,  is home to a permanent exhibition "Love the Words", which opened on 27 October 2014, Dylan’s 100th birthday.
