You know you've had a brilliant break when everything you planned to do (paint, draw, read etc) you don't get round to because of what's on offer. Croft y Beudy is a lovely, authentic cottage situated on the side of a valley where you can't be seen and you can't see anyone. You're ten minutes walk from one of the most welcoming and beautiful Welsh towns around and only a short drive from other stunning towns and villages. We swam and sunbathed on six different beaches. We walked a trail that would easily pass for a film location from Lord of the Rings or Narnia (the Coastal path). We drank unhealthy amounts of tea and coffee from unique cafes, all of which sold Welsh cakes (totally recommended). And, at the end of the each day we returned to the very well appointed Croft y Beudy and relaxed in front of a large wood burner. Few cottages can compare to this place. I'd recommend it to a friend, my mother, my brother, anyone that would listen...
Perfect peaceful Holiday Cottage in West Wales.

Thank you for your 5 star review
If you've ever visited a holiday cottage before, you most likely have seen a guestbook in the property for guests to leave a review for others when they arrive. Each of the following comments was lovingly left by people just like you in the guestbook left at Croft y Beudy.
With the challenges of the last six months, it was great to get some peace and quiet, allowing us the space to recharge batteries. You have done a great job renovating the cottage and also providing all the little things that make a stay so much easier. Ceredigion was new to all of us but what a discovery! Beaches, ancient woodlands, dramatic cliffs, and coastlines. An abundance of natural treasures and with a thriving town and good eateries in Aberaeron. This will not be our last visit!Thank you Will & Janet

Richard,Thank you so much for enabling our week stay to be so comfortable and relaxing. Wish bad weather, we nonetheless had a lovely week here - and visited Aberporth, Tresaith, Mwnt, three dinners at the Harbour Master (an old favourite for us!)) and a stunning cliff walks from Aberaeron to New Quay and the 'T3' home - It was great to see you Saturday (plus the prosecco!!) - and we had the chance to meet Julian & Mary at No 7. Will certainly be back - also hope to see you with Jenny, Stephen in Mumbles or Nant-y-DeriBest Wishes & Many thanks,Jeff & Annie
A Marvellous home - perfect location - cool, calm interior and so well equipped - Will and Janet a delight. Thank you
What a find! We've loved our time at Croft y Beudy and the surrounding area. Only one day of rain in an otherwise glorious week. We've walked The Coastal Path south from New Quay, Biked to Llanerchaeron, walked around Devils Bridge waterfalls, spent the day on Llangrannog beach, and survived The Gorge Path at Teifi Gorge. All to be recommended. Food wise we really enjoyed our meal at The Harbourmaster and our beach-side lunch at Llangrannog Beach Cafe. We're all heading back to reality feeling refreshed and re-charged so thank you! The food at The Cellar is to be recommended as well - really good steak and cheeseboard! The house is lovely and secluded, and its location has treated us to a challenging bike ride up to the main road! Will & Janet were also very welcoming and checked to see if we were OK on a number of occasions. Really lovely week - thank you!

Aberaeron
This 'Jewel of the Ceredigion Coast' with its Georgian houses is a delight - boutique shops, art galleries, cafes/tea rooms, pubs, a great fish and chip restaurant take-away as well as The Hive, famous for its award-winning honey ice cream and lovely home-made produce. The renowned Harbourmaster Hotel is just across the harbour and is a delightful stroll at lunchtime or early evening. A fabulous restaurant renowned for fantastic fare and superb local beers.
Once a thriving and prosperous fishing port with a shipbuilding industry - a walk on the historic Town Trail gives a fascinating glimpse into this past, including the origins of the famous Aberaeron Shovel.
There is a fantastic regular calendar of events during the year to enjoy including Cardigan Bay Sea Food Festival, Yachting Regatta, a Beer & Cider Festival, Tug of War, Annual Carnival and Mackerel Festival.
Ceredigion Coast Path
The Ceredigion Coast Path is virtually on your doorstep - from Cardigan in the South to Yns-las in the North the path runs along the coast past Aberaeron and takes in part of the Marine Heritage Coast - secluded sandy coves, endless golden beaches, undulating clifftop walking where the only sound is the cry of the seabirds and there are charming fishing villages - spot bottlenose dolphins in the bay along the way!
Llanerchaeron (NT)
A cycle ride or walk along the old railway track from Aberaeron takes you to this 18th century Welsh gentry estate.
The mansion (designed by John Nash) gardens and cafe are set amidst rolling parkland. There is a service courtyard with dairy, laundry, brewery and salting house and walled kitchen gardens (with produce for sale in season). It is also a working organic farm with Welsh Black cattle, Llanwenog sheep and rare Welsh pigs.
Rheidol Railway
From the coast at Aberystwyth, watch the scenery passing by your window. See the countryside change as you travel through wide open fields, ancient woodland and rugged mountain scenery as the line twists and turns, clinging to the hillside to reach Devil's Bridge - home of the famous Mynach Falls and Devil's Punchbowl.
Look out for birds of prey such as red kites and buzzards soaring high above the valley floor and listen to the sound of the narrow gauge steam engine working hard on the climb into the hills.
Opened in 1902, the railway is a masterpiece of engineering and has been delighting passengers young and old for generations. Although the line no longer carries lead ore from the mines it has been carrying holidaymakers to the beauty spot of Devil's Bridge for over a hundred years!
Cei Bach
This pretty sheltered sandy beach is good for bathing and has beautiful scenic views - the Coastal Path from Aberaeron to Cei Bach passes over a waterfall as it wends its way along the cliff tops.
New Quay
This is a bustling seaside town with picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants clinging to the sides of the hills as they rise above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay above the sandy beaches - great for relaxing, sailing, fishing and water sports.
From New Quay's pier, you can see the famous Cardigan Bay dolphins on most days in the summer or take a fishing trip or coastal cruise to truly experience fantastic coastal scenery from a different aspect and perhaps have close encounters with the dolphins, seals, porpoises and sometimes whales!
Cwmtydu Beach
This is a tranquil, secluded cove at the end of the Dewi valley. Once the haunt of smugglers, it is now a popular destination for walkers, nature lovers and holidaymakers with caves to explore at low tide and spectacular cliff top views from the Ceredigion Coast Path as it passes through.
Llangrannog
This pretty little-sheltered cove is popular with families and has great rock pools with the famous Carreg Bica rock (Devils Tooth) divides its 2 sandy beaches at low tide.
Enjoy a drink or food at the Ship Inn overlooking the beach - fabulous sunsets too!
Cardigan
This is the charming county town with its high street lined with Georgian shop fronts - call into The Custom House Gallery, visit the indoor market, sample some of the eating places and perhaps see a film or show at Theatr Mwldan which has a constantly changing programme of events.
Cardigan Castle
Recently refurbished, the castle is more of a Georgian mansion within 11th century fortified walls overlooking the Teifi river. Dine in the 1176 restaurant and enjoy special events.
Welsh Wildlife Centre & Teifi Marsh
Visit this award-winning venue with indoor and outdoor attractions and Glasshouse Cafe. Children will love the play area, wildlife films and interpretation centre. Outside are 4 nature trails with bird hides, willow sculptures, picnic areas and canoes for hire.
Aberystwyth
Less than 30 minutes drive away is the vibrant coastal and university town of Aberystwyth with its elegant promenade, interesting independent shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, arts centre, cliff railway and National Library of Wales. Recommended eaterie, The Hafod, Devil's Bridge,
