Tresaith
  • A sheltered bay, with a slipway and popular with sailors, is named after the River Saith which spectacularly cascades over the clifftops on to the golden beach overlooked by the welcoming Ship Inn - relax on the heated sea terrace with a drink and spot the dolphins.
Ceredigion Coast Path Pet friendly
  • This links Tresaith to neighbouring Aberporth and, at low tide it is possible - with care, (please check an up to date copy of the Ceredigion Tide Tables) - to walk along the foreshore all the way to the golden beaches of Penbryn, to the north.
Aberporth
  • This small village has two fabulous beaches separated by a small rocky outcrop
  • The more southerly of the two beaches is the most popular for families and for sunbathing while the northern beach is ideal for launching pleasure boats, including sailing boats, kayaks and canoes.
  • Close to the beaches there is a small seaside cafe, a souvenir shop and a friendly pub for good food and drink.
Mwnt (NT)
  • Off the beaten track this beautiful cove, surrounded by high cliffs, has a golden sandy beach reached via steep steps.
  • The sea off Mwnt is rich in wildlife, being a regular summer home to dolphins, seals and porpoises.
  • The Church of the Holy Cross (Eglwys y Grog in Welsh), probably dating from the 14th century, sits on a headland above the cove and is an example of a medieval sailor's 'chapel of ease'.
Aberaron
  • Aberaeron retains its Georgian charm with elegant brightly painted town houses and is a focal point for the rural communities in mid Cardiganshire.
  • Enjoy a stroll around the harbour along Quay Parade, have lunch or afternoon tea at the Hive on the Quay and visit the fascinating Aberaeron Sea Aquarium.
  • Take a boat trip to explore Cardigan Bay's marine ecology and Heritage Coast from the harbour.
  • Lots of charming shops including the Aberaeron Craft Centre, eating places and pubs to discover.
