About Towyn Cottage

 This glorious holiday cottage, with sea views, sits only 75 yards from Abereiddy beach, with easy access to the Blue Lagoon, The Shed Fish bistro, The Sloop Inn and Traeth Llefyn - one of Pembrokeshire's most picturesque and secluded beaches.

  • Built with traditional Pembrokeshire stone the cottage has an enviable position overlooking the pristine coastline and rolling waves of Abereiddy beach.

  • A beautifully renovated home with a feature fireplace, wood burner, and galleried landing.

  • Relax on the comfortable sofas, in the glow of the wood burner on chillier evenings.

  • One twin room is situated on the ground floor opposite the family bathroom, with a double ensuite and twin room on the first floor. 

  • Direct access to the beach and lawned grounds with original stone-built walls.

  • 75 yards to the beach at Abereiddy, ideal for swimming, surfing, and kayaking.

  • A short walk from the legendary Blue Lagoon, renowned for coasteering and home to the Red Bull Cliff diving competition 

  • Walking distance to the wonderfully secluded Traeth Llefyn beach - known for its dramatic arching cliffs, golden sand and crystal clear waters.  

  • Continue on the coastal path to the famous harbour at Porthgain (about half an hour walk).

Pembrokeshire Beaches near Towyn Cottage

  • There are at least 17 beaches within a 13-mile radius of the cottage, which is ideally located to visit beaches to the north, south and west.
  • The cottage sits just back from the beach at Abereiddy, 4 miles (11 minutes drive) from Porthgain village by road and 2 miles on foot, 6 miles (11 minutes) from Abercastle (Abercastell) beach and coastal hamlet.
  • With easy reach of various eating options. Visit Porthgain for The Shed Fish bistro, renowned throughout Pembrokeshire, or The Sloop Inn, an original 16th Century smugglers pub. Visit the Mill in Trefin for a delicious breakfast or lunch (booking advisable during peak periods). In addition, St Davids is just 8 miles away.
  • Abereiddy is the focal point for various coasteering adventures. Jump or swim in the Blue Lagoon just around the corner - renowned for its mesmeric blue waters and imposing cliffs.

Bird Watching

  • Spot buzzards and a wide variety of coastal birds that frequent the peninsula. Nearby, visit the world-famous Skomer Island nature reserve, is renowned for its large breeding seabird population, including Manx Shearwaters, Guillemots, Razorbills, Great Cormorants, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Atlantic Puffins, European Storm-petrels, Common Shags, Eurasian Oystercatchers and gulls, as well as birds of prey including Short-eared Owls, Common Kestrels and Peregrine Falcons. The departure point for the short trip to Skomer is roughly an hour's drive from the cottage. The departure point to the RSPB reserve, Ramsey Island, is 10 miles away (about a 25-minute drive).
