About The Area
Little England Beyond Wales
  • South Pembrokeshire is often referred to as 'little England beyond Wales'. The locals speak English, place names are English and yet the area is surrounded by Welsh speakers on all sides even in north Pembrokeshire! During the 12th century Henry I allowed a number of Flemish to settle in the area and they were soon joined by English settlers. The Flemish and English languages were similar at the time. This led to the extinction of Welsh in the area.
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
  • The Pembrokeshire Coast Path - 186 miles of glorious scenery and fabulous walking - and Neyland Marina are within 2 miles of this luxurious Haven Waterway holiday home.
Neyland Marina
  • Arrange a Sea Safari, sight seeing/fishing trip or charter a dive boat at Neyland Marina where there is a quayside restaurant The Bar overlooking the Haven and Brunel Cafe for coffee cakes and light lunches - watch the endless activity of sailing boats coming and going.
Brunel's Cycle Track
  • Cycle or walk the Brunel Track - along the old railway built by Neyland's founder - Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Stackpole
  • Stackpole is both a listed designed landscape and an internationally important nature reserve. Footpaths radiate from the site of Stackpole Court, a grand mansion demolished before the National Trust owned this area. Walk through woodlands to the unique Bosherston Lily Ponds – a great spot for otters, water birds and dragonflies. Head on to the glorious golden sands of Broad Haven South beach.

Barafundle

  • Just 20 minutes' drive away, beautiful Barafundle - voted the best beach and picnic spot in Britain - and listed as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Clear azure waters and shimmering sands are the order of the day here. Enjoy a picnic on the beach then stroll back along the coastal path to the Stackpole Quay teashop for afternoon tea with freshly baked scones with jam and cream. Owned and run by the National Trust it offers a relaxing atmosphere with splendid cakes and refreshments.

Why you love Rose House
Thank you! This house is comfortable, well thought out, beautifully presented, warm and comfortable.

We really appreciated the welcome pack and the house being so warm and clean for our arrival.

We loved the views from the sun room but took ourselves out for good long walks every day. Barafundle is a beautiful beach but we think Marloes Sands at low water has more of interest, and a hike around Stackpole Estate is fascinating.

For dinners we highly recommend The Bar at Neyland Marina. You will probably need to book.
The Lewis', Hampshire
We have had a super stay from start to finish. The house is so spacious. The view is breath taking.

There was loads to do in the area from the location of the house.

We had wonderful, cosy nights in front of the stove and all the bedrooms were out of this world. We can't wait to return.
The Barrons, Ireland
This was our second visit to Rose House and we have been as thrilled to be here as we were first time round. Our three daughters were beyond excited to arrive on the Friday night, running to their rooms and happily snuggling down to the very cosy beds. Equally my husband and I felt a sense of coming back to our home from home as we turned into the drive.
We have really appreciated all the new touches that have been bought in with new ownership. It's so lovely when you have three children and a dog (so a very full car) to arrive somewhere so well equipped, comfortable and practical on every level.
Again two of our daughters celebrated their birthdays here as they did last year and yet again they will have memories that will be cherished for a long while to come. 'Folly farm' and 'Manor Park Wildlife' were where they chose for their birthdays, both we all thoroughly enjoyed.
We shall be back!

A beautiful house in a great location. Rose House has been a real home from home with everything you could need and more. We really don't want to leave! We have been to some lovely beaches; Whitesands, and Freshwater and had some delicious meals, our favourite being The Griffin Inn at Dale and The Shed at Porthgain. Thank you Chrystal and Simon for the wine, Welsh cakes and milk. We hope to return one day.
The Prosser Family, Shropshire
Had a wonderfully relaxing week here. The house is beautiful and extremely well equipped - everything provided for!

We were lucky to have a few sunny days so enjoyed sitting out on the terrace, but also loved the rainy days from the conservatory. It's a fantastic house to come back to after spinning around the coast and countryside.

Thank you very much for the milk,Welsh cakes and wine - all went down a treat! And thank you for providing such a fabulous holiday home.

Wonderful house with every facility under the sun. Appointments to a very high standard and quality. Five stars all around. Particularly loved sitting in the quiet conservatory, reading and overlooking the estuary. Lovely! Would love to return. Ollie was super relaxed & happy here. Many thanks.

What a fabulous home, we never want to leave, everything was wonderful from start to finish.

We walked the dog along the shore, did some fishing and went to the sights. Would recommend to everyone.

Thank you Chrystal and Simon for a wonderful week in Pembrokeshire. We have had a very wet and windy introduction to our break, but Rose House was warm and welcoming from the first night. It was a lovely touch that Simon came to greet us on the first night. It is a fantastic house for many lovely places to visit.
Our dog Ziggy very much enjoyed Barafundle bay,Tenby, Solva and Saundersfoot. Our Lucy, older daughter, also enjoyed some of the places.

It is a wonderful house, well equipped and felt like home from home. Thank you.
