This is a clean and comfy cottage where you can feel very relaxed. It is situated in a stunning location with views over flower meadows to the coast beyond. It truly is a nature lovers paradise. In May, the wild flowers and birds were in such abundance wherever we walked. The cottage is conveniently situated near FISHGUARD, but feels like a little oasis of peace and calm. Sheila, the owner, who lives close by made us feel very welcome indeed and Seaspray is a cottage we would love to return to.

We spent several hours marking all of our cottage options according to location: points for being near the sea, near the coastal path, near enough to a pub to walk, near to towns with shops, near a secluded countryside area, the charm of the cottage itself, the amenities of the cottage, and the Google street view from each home.Seaspray came out on top - and when we arrived everything was even better than expected. The kitchen and bathroom are both very well kitted out, the views are unparalleled, and you can get to a private beach within 15 minutes walk along the coastal path that joins the house. We would come here again without a second thought.

Seaspray cottage was a very special place to stay. The cottage was big, clean and everything worked well. The garden was wonderful. Our toddler loved exploring, especially walking to the gate at the bottom of the garden to spot the cows and the boats. It was great to be able to walk straight onto the coastal path and watch the sun setting over the harbour. We would love to come back.

We are completely enamoured with Seaspray Cottage; it is a little slice of heaven on earth. After a difficult year, we completely embraced the tranquility and the stunning surroundings offered by this location. Newgale beach is a MUST if you have a dog! We hope to return in 2018.

Delightful cottage!! Home from home!! Everything spot on; the location, cottage well equipped and of course the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. We had two weeks of excellent walking. Recommend the butcher in Newport, also a good village to have morning coffee and some good pubs!!

All Wales Coastal Path & Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

  • A footpath from the cottage leads to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (part of the All Wales Coastal Path) and National Trust headland - spectacular scenery and glorious sunsets, ponies and cattle graze the cliffs during the summer and winter, a wondrous variety of wild flowers in the spring, fabulous sea bird and marine life - seals with their pups make their home at the foot of the cliffs in the autumn.

Lower Fishguard

  • This hamlet with its picturesque quay and harbour is a short walk away along the spectacular coastal path or a 5 minute drive.
  • Enjoy a drink at the ancient local pub - The Ship, popular with locals and visitors alike - and frequented by both Richard Burton and Gregory Peck during the filming of Under Milk Wood and Moby Dick, both of which classics were filmed in this pretty harbour.

Last Invasion Tapestry, Fishguard Town Hall

  • The remarkable and internationally famous Last Invasion Tapestry took a group of local people over four years to complete. It is 30.4 metres long and displayed in a purpose built gallery in the town hall. The tapestry commemorates the failed attempt by the French to invade Britain near Fishguard in 1797.

Coastal Bus Services

  • Leave the car behind and explore Pembrokeshire by bus - from Easter to the end of September there are 2 'hail and ride' bus services, the 'Strumble Shuttle' which meanders along the coast to St Davids and the 'Poppit Rocket' to Poppit Sands (the start of the Coastal Path) and Cardigan.

Manorowen Walled Gardens, Goodwick, Pembrokeshire

  • Manorowen Walled Gardens in Goodwick are well worth a visit. The one and a half acre walled and kitchen garden have been restored to offer a huge variety of interest in a small space. The grounds also contain a late 18th C summer house with wonderful views across Fishguard Bay.

Dyffryn Fernant Garden between Fishguard and Llanerchaeron

  • A magical garden grown out of a wilderness of rock, marsh, bog and clay. A modern, naturalistic, exotic and stylish garden is the result.

Pwllgwaelod

  • This small sandy beach bounded by cliffs with views across Fishguard Bay - a smugglers cove with a pub - The Sailors Safety, now famous for its sea food.

Cwm yr Eglwys

  • A a short walk (0.5 mile) from Pwllgwelod or a drive down a narrow country lane takes you to this pretty cove with its sandy beach overlooked by the romantic ruins of the 12th century Church of Saint Brynach.
  • A great favourite with families and renowned for having its own micro climate - a few degrees hotter and dryer compared to other parts of the Pembrokeshire coast.

Newport

  • This vibrant seaside village is a short drive away - sample good food at award winning restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, browse art and craft galleries and for golfers there is a fabulous links golf course overlooking the sweeping sands of the River Nevern estuary - a wonderful spot for estuary bird watching.

Newport Links Golf Club

  • Newport's challenging 18 hole links course stands on the edge of the coast with stunning views of the bay. Book lessons, enjoy a few rounds and relax over a drink and a light snack in the bar or an excellent meal in The Links Restaurant.

Boat Trips

  • Visit Martins Haven on the Marloes Peninsula to join boat trips out to Skomer Island an internationally important breeding ground for myriad sea birds. Expect to see puffins, manx sheerwaters, gannets and more as well as seals and dophins. Boats to Ramsey Island run from St Justinians near St Davids and sometimes, tides permitting, from Whitesands beach.

Family Fun

  • Discover a wealth of family attractions all over Pembrokeshire. Visit Dr Beynon's Bug Farm and Grub Kitchen, Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Company, Blue Lagoon Water Park, Tudor Merchant's House Tenby (N.T.), Manor Wildlife Park, Heatherton Sports Park, Folly Farm and so many more.

This charming dog friendly coastal cottage overlooking Fishguard Bay is a wonderful base for exploring Pembrokeshire at any time of year.
