Lovely light, bright, spacious cottage. Very comfortable bed and sofas. Well equipped and well presented.A constructive point would be possibly a sturdier tin opener, and a knife sharpener (we took our own because we often find knives are blunt in holiday cottages generally) might be useful.
Lovely little gem of a cottage and a great base for walking. Everything you could need is available. The owner is a lovely lady who was friendly, attentive and informative. We have stayed in many cottages and this is one we would definitely recommend and hope to return to.
Warm, friendly welcome by the owners - the cottage was set in a peaceful location amongst the trees. The cottage itself was fully equipped with everything we needed and was comfortable and tranquil - particularly the lounge which was upstairs and looked out over the grounds. A lovely spot to return to at the end of a day at the beach. The grounds were beautiful and we were able to use the garden and surrounding field to exercise our 4 year old lab. It is an ideal location for exploring Newport Bay, Fishguard, Solva and Cardigan Bay.
Fantastic cottage in a lovely peaceful location. Stayed with my daughter and our dog and it was a great choice for us. The open plan living area is light and comfortable. Quality mattresses and bed linen are used in the bedrooms and it has a well thought out and stocked kitchen. It has lovely gardens with a separate enclosed meadow which was perfect for off lead activity for our pooch. The owner Silvia has restored the property to a high standard with quality furniture . Overall a great place to stay.
As I have commented on the previous details, Certainly NOT GOOD ENOUGH for the Quality Cottages standard. Equipment had to be explained, Television, Cooker, and Log burner. No egg cups, No Knife sharpener. No pan scourers Had to ask for dish cloths for washing-up.

From the owner:- Dear Guest, I am very sorry about your disappointment with your holiday cottage. Please understand that we did not intend to sound impolite when you arrived more than two hours before the official arrival time. Yes, we had three months to get ready, but we did not want to welcome guests into a cottage which stood empty for some time without having it undergone a proper cleaning and dusting first. A short phone call the day before would have made your early arrival much easier for everybody and would have given us time to make sure that everything was in place before you arrived, including the scourer for the pans. Egg cups can be found in the cupboard above the sink, and the knives were freshly sharpened, but I will make sure that a knife sharpener will be available in the future. I also will see that there is a printed guide for switching on the TV. We always provide the means for a first refreshing cup of tea with milk and sugar and some homemade cake. As it was Christmas the cake came in form of Christmas cookies baked by my mother, and I hope you enjoyed them. We do not provide other food but of course people are welcome to eggs from my hens. All they have to do is ask for them. The nearest supermarket is in Newport, about ten minutes from the cottage, and it is open until 10.00 pm. Nobody needs to go hungry here! You were clearly upset when you arrived. You had us so worried that we did not want you having to drive along our dark single track lanes to Fishguard in the evening to pick up your sister-in-law from the train. My son and I went instead and waited for two hours as you had the wrong time for her arrival. Please accept that we did our best provide you with a warm, clean and welcoming cottage. We also did our best to solve any problems you had with appliances and that help included inviting your sister- in-law to iron her blouse in my private rooms. We are very sorry that not even the Christmas tree in the living room could cheer you up!
If you've ever visited a holiday cottage before, you most likely have seen a guestbook in the property for guests to leave a review for others when they arrive. Each of the following comments was lovingly left by people just like you in the guestbook left at Serendipity.
Serendipity is a lovely cottage situated in the heart of the Gwaun Valley, a place like no other. The valley seems not to have changed for hundreds of years and is a truly unique place, with abundant wildlife and nature right on your doorstep. Serendipity fits right into this landscape. This charming house offers absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay and offers privacy and relaxation. We found the owner to be caring, attentive and full of local knowledge; Serendipity comes very highly recommended and I am sure we will return in the future!
