A stunning cottage! The incredible attention to detail and wonderful homely touches make Railway Cottage extra special! We've had a lovely week, visited some great places & enjoyed fabulous weather.

Haven Waterway and Surrounding Area.

  • Sailing, water sports, leisure parks, coastal walks, golf courses, museums, castles and the safe, sandy beaches of St Brides Bay, Dale and Marloes Peninsulas all within easy reach, as well as the world renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
  • Relax, take in the bracing, invigorating Pembrokeshire pure air and watch the world of the Haven Waterway go by with yachts, Irish Ferry and ever-changing tidal seascape.

Neyland Yacht Club

  • For sailing enthusiasts, there are launching facilities, floating moorings and family friendly Neyland Yacht Club with a recommended restaurant.
  • Neyland Marina, a short stroll away has The Bar Restaurant specialising in delicious fish dishes and 'Manillas' coffee shop open all year (popular with locals)- several good waterside inns are also within a short drive.

Cycle the Brunel Track

  • The Celtic Trail passes through Westfield Pill Nature Reserve along the old railway track built by Neyland's founder - Isambard Kingdom Brunel.


  • Do visit the waterside village of Burton. A public jetty is a perfect place for crabbing and the family-friendly Jolly Sailor serves good value pub food on rolling lawns beside the water and in the conservatory.

Pembroke Castle

  • A magnificent stronghold on the banks of the Cleddau Estuary. Privately owned, very well maintained and open to the public it makes a lovely spot for exploration and family picnics. Exciting events are held in the grounds throughout the summer season including historical reenactments, music festivals and falconry displays.

Torch Theatre

  • The award-winning Torch Theatre in nearby Milford Haven is a popular venue for live stage shows, films and restaurant. Check their website for the current programme.

Milford Haven Golf Club

  • A challenging 18 hole course with views over the Haven Waterway and a clubhouse serving excellent food.


  • This picturesque coastal village has a wide variety of water sports to choose from - tuition and a full hire service for surfboards, wetsuits and kayaks available.

Visit local beaches

  • Marloes (NT), Watick Bay, Broad Haven North, Little Haven, Newgale - beautiful golden sandy beaches just a short drive from the cottage.
  • On the south coast of Pembrokeshire find exotic Barafundle Beach, voted one of the best picnic spots in Europe, Freshwater East, a big beach popular for all kinds of ball games and the pretty seaside village of Manorbier.
  • Freshwater West Beach magnificent golden sands of Freshwater West with crashing surf, sand dunes and sea cliffs was the location for the filming of Harry Potter and the battle scene for Robin Hood.

Bosherston Lily Ponds (NT), Olde Worlde Teashop & St Govans Inn

  • Stroll along this delightful trail past the scenic lily ponds and onto beautiful Broad Haven South beach.
  • Before leaving do enjoy a real old-fashioned tea with Auntie Vi MBE in Bosherston's Olde Worlde Teashop or good pub food and award-winning ales in the St Govans Inn.


  • The market town of Pembroke, 6 miles from this delightful Pembrokeshire Haven Waterway Cottage, has a choice of pubs, restaurants individual shops and interesting antique centres in which to browse. Visit the magnificent medieval castle which is one of Britain's finest and the birthplace of Henry VII.

Visit the popular resorts of Tenby, Saundersfoot and South Pembrokeshire Attractions.

  • This popular Victorian holiday resort with Blue Flag beaches and quaint cobbled streets have a wide choice of boutiques, galleries, pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops.
  • Buy your tickets for Caldey Island at the kiosk on the slipway of Tenby Harbour. Enjoy the boat ride and look out for marine wildlife en route.
  • The island has been home to Cistercian monks for a thousand years. They farm the land, produce perfume, chocolate, and shortbread all of which are for sale in the island's shop.
