About Hop Garden Cottage

Beautiful Hop Garden Cottage is a welcome addition to our portfolio - a hidden gem in a romantic setting.

  • Hidden down a quiet country lane on the site of an historic Manor house dating back to the 15th Century, this is also the place where Dick Francis, legendary jockey and crime writer, first learned to ride horses!
  • This is a pretty cottage looking towards Beggars Reach, Cosheston and the beautifully green Lawrenny Woods.
  • Steeped in history, the Manor was valued at half a knight's fee in the times of the Percival family. Hop Garden Cottage has been lovingly restored and converted to a very high standard with underfloor heating, beautiful flagstone floors, solid oak doors and a welcoming wood burner for warm and cosy evenings in.
  • The open plan living arrangement has a range cooker and butler sink, a well-equipped kitchen with Corian work surfaces - all of which make preparing holiday meals a joy.
  • The two bedrooms with estuary views are comfortably furnished - with excellent mattresses.
  • On your doorstep there are many glorious countryside and estuary walks and fabulous wildlife and a huge variety of birds.
  • Just a mile away there is easy access to the estuary for launching boats and kayaks.
  • Narberth is 20 minutes away with an array of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and galleries and the golden sandy beaches of Tenby and Saundersfoot are also nearby.
  • Perfect at any time of the year, the incredibly peaceful location and cosy interiors make this a unique and very special holiday hideaway.

Cottage and location was perfect in the sunshine and we had a lovely stay. Would have liked an electric towel radiator and the microwave is rusty inside which was a bit off putting when using

This was the _worst_ weather we have _ever_ had in any Autumn holiday in Pembrokeshire, but fortunately Hop Garden was the _best_ property we have ever rented through QC, and we've had quite a few, none of them duds. The cottage is quite a new conversion/renovation, and the owners, the Gossages, have done it with imagination and good taste. The cottage has almost everything one might wish to find (the only possible exception was a hair drier -- either we didn't find it, or COVID has required its removal). It's very comfortable (super bed) and was also nice and warm all the time, thanks to the underfloor ground-source heating -- something very much appreciated in blowy, wet, grey Pembrokeshire weather which meant that we spent more time in the property than we normally would have. The owners also supplied abundant dry logs and kindling for evening fires. The location is beautiful -- remote, peaceful (no man-made background noise, no traffic, not or hardly a single light to be seen at night). It's miles from the nearest A-road, but the driving is as easy and enjoyable as it is slow. We would go back there like a shot.

A barn conversion in a very peaceful and beautiful setting. Remote but not far to drive to see the sites. Well set up inside although I would probably update the sofas.

It was a lovely warm cottage which was very well set up despite the situation we are in.

Enjoyed our stay. We found the cottage cosy and wellequipped. Our weather was mixed - fantastic sunny, warm days contrasted with Welsh rain. Daisy the dog was very cute appearing at the door for a daily play! Great coastal walks. Elizabeth and John were very helpful hosts.
