A lovely chilled week. The weather was very kind with only 1 day of rain. Some fab walks round to St Brides Bay and then to Marloes - which is a beach I played on as a little girl, and its heaven to know it hasn't changed a bit. Pembrokeshire is a secret we must share!! Fab cottage. Kids loved the mezzanine. Thanks Di for everything. Def would love to return.

We have had a lovely stay here. With family living locally this is a find. The dogs had a wonderful stay and really felt at home, which is very important to us. The loft upstairs was a great sanctuary for the children after long walks on Marloes beach.

Another lovely stay with you guys. We have seen plenty of Welsh wind but walks have been enjoyable! Downstairs bedroom is a pleasure. Thanks Di for all your work. See you again soon.

We have had a wonderful week and have loved coming back to East Hook Barn. It is a very special place and we admire what you have done. Marloes has so many happy memories for us with all our family holidays so we love coming to stay here. Thank you to Diane for making us so welcome.

A well equipped spacious holiday home.Quiet, stunning views and within walking distance of the Skomer ferry. Perfect ingredients for a wonderful holiday, complete with a welcoming bottle of wine. Thanks for another great holiday.

Nicholas D'agorne - 1st June 2018

A lovely property but expensive considering there were little/no amenities locally. I certainly wouldn't pay the summer prices.

Property Description
St Bride's Bay holiday cottage - a perfect destination for a Pembrokeshire holiday
  • Enjoy wonderful views across St Brides Bay from this beautifully renovated barn conversion.
  • One of a pair, it is spacious and stylishly decorated with a combination of really comfortable furnishings and calm colours.
  • This is a perfect destination for a family or a group of friends at all times of year.
  • The large open plan living space offers the ultimate in versatility – if you are cooking supper you can still be a part of a game being played on the dining table or keep an eye on a film with the rest of the family!
  • If you want to get out of the fray, just chill on the mezzanine in relaxed seating.
  • East Hook is a small settlement almost at the western most point of south Pembrokeshire. With wide open skies, the freshest air, amazing starry skies and a private path leading down through a wildflower meadow to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, you will be entranced!

About the Area
Martins Haven and Skomer Island
  • Boat trips leave from Martins Haven, half a mile along the lane from East Hook Barn, for the magical bird islands of Skomer and Skokholm, just off the Pembokeshire coast.  You might leave the car at home and walk to the departure point.
  • These islands are famous for their wonderful bird life - especially Skomer's enormous and comical colony of puffins - and the surrounding waters are some of the richest for wildlife in Britain.
Marloes Village
  • The village of Marloes is within easy reach (1.5 miles) of this delightful cottage. For a small village it is well-provided with a convenience store, a village pub - The Lobster Pot serving good pub food - and the Clock House Restaurant.
Marloes Peninsula, Marloes Mere and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • The Marloes Peninsula is bordered by the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which runs 186 miles from Amroth in the south to Poppit Sands in the north - and is now part of the All Wales Coastal Path.  With absolutely stunning scenery, bird and wildlife and a huge variety of beautiful beaches many of which welcome dogs all through the year - this is a delightful place to holiday .
  • The hinterland to Marloes is an area known as Marloes Mere - a wetland once famous for medicinal leeches (no longer in existence).  Here hides offer cover for bird enthusiasts to spot a huge and wonderful range of  bird life - depending on the season you might see Marsh Harriers, Teal and Snipe along with Barn Owls, Choughs, Swallows and Swifts.  It is a really captivating place.
Dale and the Haven Waterway
  • The crescent shaped bay of Dale is at the entrance to the Haven Waterway which runs deep into the heart of south Pembrokeshire.  While away a few fascinating hours watching the boats on the water.
  • Dale is a centre for water sports of all sorts - you can try your hand at sailing or surfing, kayaking or coasteering - West Wales Windsurfing and Sailing provide tuition for all abilities.
Eat out on the Haven
  • At the Griffin Inn in Dale you can eat al fresco overlooking the bay or enjoy delicious snacks and meals at the Boat House Cafe.
  • Dine out at the Marina in Milford where there is a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from and expensive boats and fabulous yachts to admire!
  • More boats, a chandlery and delicious lunch is also to be found at the Neyland Marina.
The Brunel Trail
  • From Neyland you can join the Brunel Trail and walk or cycle up the valley into open countryside with lovely views on a traffic-free route.
The Torch Theatre
  • The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven has a variety of live stage performances as well as a cinema, café/bar and gallery.
Pembrokeshire Beaches
  • The Marloes and Dale Peninsulas are blessed with lovely beaches.  You don't have to go very far to find a beach to suit - Musselwick, Marloes and Westdale Bay are all close by and together with the long beaches at the back of St Brides Bay - Broad Haven, Druidston Haven and Newgale - there is enough to fill your week without having to travel far at all.
Nolton Riding Stables
  • With ponies and horses to suit all riders Nolton Riding Stables is conveniently located for beach riding or hacks through the glorious Pembrokeshire countryside.
St Davids
  • Visit Britain's tiniest characterful city in north Pembrokeshire. A darling collection of interesting and individual shops, galleries, ice-cream kiosk, cafes, bars, restaurants, adventure activity provider TYF, ticket offices for boat trips and magnificent St Davids Cathedral.
Family Days out in Pembrokeshire
  • If your children are looking for something apart from nature, there is plenty to do in Pembrokeshire.  There are theme parks aplenty in South Pembrokeshire - Oakwood, Heatherton, the Dinosaur Park, Manor Wildlife Park or Folly Farm.
  • For the more adventurous try guided activities at TYF, Preseli Venture or Sealyham Activity Centres.
