Rather disappointing cottage for the cost.Poorly equipped kitchen. Rooms were small although that was known.Less furniture i.e. remove wardrobe in bedroom and fewer chairs in living room would have created more space. The wet room - bathroom was very cramped and always damp. The shower head was broken and needed replacing.

  • More extensive shopping can be done in Haverfordwest 12 miles away where there are large supermarkets, banks, post office, library with internet facilities, chemists, doctors, vet, filling stations and interesting independent shops.

Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Marloes & Deer Park

  • The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the villages of Marloes and Dale are within a short drive.
  • Marloes has a pub, The Lobster Pot and a village shop, Post Office and cafe.
  • The Deer Park, on Marloes Peninsula, is grazed by Welsh Mountain Ponies. There are magnificent views over to Skomer and fantastic sunsets to enjoy.

Marloes Sands

  • Cared for by the National Trust, Marloes is a wonderful isolated beach with over a mile of golden sands backed by impressive sea cliffs, popular with geologists and ornithologists alike. There is a considerable trek from the car park to the beach but views of the Pembrokeshire coast along the way are magnificent. The beach is within a 15 minute walk of the village.

Boat Trips to Skomer Island

  • Regular trip boats pick up visitors at Martins Haven and drop them off on the internationally important RSPB bird island of Skomer. This magical island carpeted with bluebells and pink campion in spring is a wildlife haven with thousands of migratory birds passing through every year. Perhaps the most popular being the comical little puffins who go about their business unworried by their enthusiastic admirers.

Coastal Bus Service

  • The Puffin Shuttle is a hail and ride service calling in at every beach and village between St Davids and Marloes. The Strumble Shuttle runs between St Davids and Newport. A great asset for walkers. Walk as far as you like in one direction and get the bus back.

Secluded Beaches & Pembrokeshire Coastal Path close to cottage near St Brides Bay coast

  • This is the far south and west of Pembrokeshire with wonderful coastal walking and secluded beaches to explore - do walk the Coastal Path to St Ann's Head with its Lighthouse and Coastguard Station.

Nolton Haven

  • Nolton Chapel above Nolton beach is a small 150 year old stone chapel standing nail bitingly close to the cliff edge. It is worth a visit even if you do not want to attend a service. Whilst in Nolton why not book some pony trekking or a gallop across the beach with the East Nolton Riding Stables alternatively you might prefer riding open moorland or wooded lanes and bridleways. The friendly and efficient staff can advise you.

Jo & Leigh Rhian Wood Turners
