Really great place would definitely go back. The only two negatives are very noisy fridge (kids said it disrupted their sleep), and a lot of cobwebs. Otherwise it would be 5*. A bottle of wine on arrival was a very nice touch.

Spacious cottage in ideal position. Tired decor and furnishings. Uncomfortable sofa in living room and very noisy fridge. Friendly owners and well equipped cottage.

Welcoming owners and interesting barn conversion.Loved the history of the village and the location. Good food at nearby pub and excellent tea shop in the village with superb breakfast. One criticism of the barn was that it needed some attention paid to cleanliness in some areas and a lick of paint would not go amiss.

We would have liked curtains/blinds at all windows. Bedroom stuffy as window opened into a very hot conservatory. Very noisy fridge/freezer close to bedroom door. We thought the photographs of children around the cottage (about 10 photos) was a bit weird. That said, it was a lovely cottage and the wine and milk provided was a very nice touch.

A attractive spacious cottage and good location with a welcoming owner. It could be improved even more with attention to some details. Bring dish-washer and laundry detergent (as well as your towels) if you want to use the machines! Nearest shop is 3 miles, but a great pub only a few minutes walk up the road.

What a warm and sunny welcome! It started with a drink in the garden and ended in the pub singing "Thank you for the music" together with the whole neighbourhood! So much fun-we love it!

What a wonderful cottage. I wanted to take the kitchen home with me! Thank you for a lovely stay and for the welcoming wine and water for the dogs, very thoughtful. Thanks also Antony for the emergency fence, without it the girls would have eaten the chickens!

A wonderful place to stay. Congenial hosts, lovely having the local just up the road, close enough to stagger home! Thoroughly enjoyed meeting the local population. Indeed worthwhile coming from Austalia to see all the scenery . Then apart from all the above we have finally met our relatives and they are gorgeous.

Thoroughly enjoyed a far too short week staying in "The Old Smithy" ,a beautifully restored building reflecting the history of Mathry. Tina and Antony have been more then perfect hosts and my sister and I have thoroughly enjoyed you sharing of your home. The personalised welcome was a pleasant surprise. We will miss your beautiful family when we return to Australia. Thank goodness for Facebook! I will return!

Had a fantastic time, walking round Dina's Head, Strumble Head. Visited St David's, loved the cathedral. Visited Solva, lunched in loads of pubs including The Sloop in Porthgain, The Ship Inn in Trefin and best of all The Farmers Arms 100 yards from the cottage. Hardly sat still since we got here, ourselves and our two spaniels will be going back to Suffolk for a well earned rest, sadly! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Breathtaking cottage. My wife, 2 year old daughter and I had a great week, exploring the local surroundings.Yr Hen Gof is a perfect base, only a few miles from all the best beaches and coves.(Poppit Sands is a must if you have children it is stunning) The local pub which is a stones throw away from the cottage (Farmers Arrms) is well worth a visit for food and drinks. There was a very welcome bottle of wine, and I also bought some fresh eggs from Anthony and Tina, my daughter loved talking to their chickens, cat and also the new arrival the duck. This is quite simply a great cottage in a beautiful village its a must if you are going to Pembrokeshire.
