Guest Book Comments

We have had a lovely time at Hillside House. The weather was good. We enjoyed the surfing at Newgale, rock pooling at St Brides and watching the divers at the Blue Lagoon. But my favourite was going to Folly Farm and Picton Castle.

Fantastic holiday home. Best outlook and communal areas we have ever had. What a view - even on a rainy day! Enjoyed all aspects of mixed weather, good waves and sunny days on the beach. Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us. Fantastic to have access to a garage for parking surf boards/canoe etc. Thank you

We have had a wonderful week. The house is great; the views wonderful; the surf great and the weather a treat - never seen so many people without wet suits in the sea! Thank you very much.

Have thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Hillside Cottage and Newgale - and we hope to be back again! Picton Castle Gardens are certainly worth visit and we also enjoyed our Seal Safari Boat Trip from Tenby. Charlie the seagull has knocked demandingly on the lounge window on quite a few occasions. He was unsuccessful and , today, has given up in disgust!

Great family accommodation, spectacular views from the terrace. Surrounding Pembrokeshire wonderful as always and this time blessed with warm sunny weather.

We have stayed in a home rather than just a house Caught some good waves. The coastal path from Newgale to Solva is breathtaking; Solva is a charming little harbour with several cafes/pubs and we caught the bus back. Haverfordwest good for a wander on a cloudy day.

Had a lovely stay at Hillside. Comfortable and spacious with fab views. Well eauipped and nice and clean on arrival. Pembroke castle is well worth a visit & great value at £5.50 Marloes and Martins haven great too. Fab walks and if you can time it right seals & pups. They also do boat trips to Skomer Island, Skolkholm & Grassholm. Thanks for sharing your holiday home.

Well stocked with crockery, cutlery and saucepans etc. but weighing scales would have been appreciated Beds were comfortable as was the entire property with spectacular views across the bay. Spacious property with more than adequate bathroom facilities. Good parking. Property was nice and warm. Good range of local information and general reading material. TV, SKY and DVD player were appreciated. However, we were disappointed when we arrived at the property to find cobwebs in all rooms. Our 3 young grandchildren would not go to bed until we had hoovered and dusted away the cobwebs. on hoovering under the beds, we found a quantity of dead flies, fluff and several items such as broken coat hangers. When putting clothes into the chest of drawers in the ground floor bedroom, I almost sliced my finger on a sheet of clear glass which had been left there. Although the kitchen was well stocked, all cupboards bar one were full with cleaning equipment, crockery etc. this one available cupboard for our food items was both dirty and dusty. I would not use it. The fridge might need servicing. We found our food was being frozen and spoiled even though the control setting was what we would use at home. Blown light bulbs in the living area had not been replaced since the last letting. Both the light bulbs over the stairs had blown - a health and safety issue. Even though there were spare bulbs in the cupboards we could not replace these bulbs safely because of the height over the stairs. We were unable to find a clothes line to dry wet clothes.

Great location, lovely space and views. Good facilities.

The location is exceptional overlooking Newgale beach, and within a very short walk of it. This was our primary reason for booking this particular accommodation. The holiday accommodation could have been a bit cleaner on arrival, and the smell from the drains on the first night was not very appealing. However this drains issue did not reoccur for the remainder of the holiday, which we enjoyed.

Lovely house, very well equipped, amazing beds in the master bedroom, all you need in the kitchen too. Enough space in the lounge to eat and relax. Super views. Showers were a bit poor - plenty of hot water but very small flow, more like a tap than a shower - otherwise would have been 5 stars.

Great house and fab location. Recommended! !

Lovely cottage, great sea view, well-stocked kitchen. Pity there were so many cobwebs, maybe because we visited at the start of the season.
