Peaceful, well equipped, lovely setting by the river.

Ian Aulton - 23rd November 2018

I would really like to vote the cottage 4.5 stars as it was a glorious bolt hole and almost perfect! The .5 star is taken off because some of the towels were a bit old, the heating was on when we arrived (which was unnecessary) and took a visit from the handyman AND a call from the owner in Scotland for us to be able to turn it off and eventually we had to turn the radiators off individually. We had not appreciated that the garage at the end of the driveway was being used constantly (does someone sleep in there?) and on one occasion the gate beside it was left open and our dog was in the driveway! HOWEVER the cottage itself is beautifully appointed, the garden was lovely, trees in bloom, lawn cut, the beds were all very comfortable, the bathrooms super and the living space a delight. We would definitely recommend River Cottage to our friends for a blissful break. AND only 2 miles from Newport Sands!
