GREAT LOCATION, GOOD SIZE PROPERTY , WELL EQUIPPED
Great location in so far as its a minutes walk to a lovely cove -my husband loved walking the dog there first thing. Next to it is part of the coast path though the trees with stunning views of the bay. 10 minutes walk into Saundersfoot the other way which was much nicer than expected with good restaurants and take aways. Definitely on the up The flat was perfect for us and the teenagers and the enclosed area outside for the dog to run round in when he wasn't down the beach. Nice and warm inside -great as the weather was terrible!. lounged around the front room with enough space for the 4 of us. Could have done with a drying area for wetsuits as it was October they took 3 days to dry properly and didn't want to risk them dripping over the wooden floor so they had to be left over the bath and the spin on the washing machine didn't quite do it. Wouldn't be a problem in the summer as a good drying areas outside Everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and you get a nice welcome pack of essentials -bread milk etc for breakfast. Great location for kayakers and paddle-boarders , walkers or people with young children looking for a seaside holiday. Nearest surf beach was 20 minutes away ( manobier) so not so great location for us but as it was a force 8 this became irrelevant so it was nice to be in a protected area with food and walks close by and a warm comfy flat!
Reply from: Quality Cottages Team
Saundersfoot is a lovely place to visit, the wall along the edge of the beach with an ice cream from the local Upton Farm company is a personal favourite! Cracking food along there too, there's a fabulous street food shack on the beach sometimes which is always a must if in the area. Wet suits are a nightmare to get dry, but thank you for your consideration to the flooring. Lovely to hear that you had a great time and made the most of all the area had to offer. If you make another booking, give us a call, on the Sales Team we're all local to Pembrokeshire and have a decent amount of knowledge on properties near good surfing spots, we'd be happy to help!
The property was a good size and very well equipped. The position was also very good, very near to the beach and town if you can climb hills. Parking was easy. However there was a distinct lack of maintenance. The front door didnt fit and needed to be slammed and was hard to lock. There were 5 light bulbs missing or broken including hallway. The oven was greasy and contained used oven trays with baked on food. There was a smell of mustiness throughout. Never seen so many air conditioners, predictably empty! The outside area was unusable full of moss and leaves.
3 stars feels a bit mean as the flat itself is worth 4 stars but the outside space really lets it down. There is a table and chairs outside but the space is so uninviting that we never used it. There wasnt a working light and the steps down to the lower level were slippery. Could really do with a bit of money spending on it and some TLC. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the lounge comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. Not sure I would have been happy putting a baby in the nursery as it is windowless and small and during the hot weather could be stifling.
