  • Boat launching facilities nearby on the Pembrokeshire Secret Waterway.

South Pembrokeshire - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

  • This waterside holiday cottage is in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' Pembrokeshire's Coastal National Park with many 'Sites of Special Scientific Interest' - a haven for sailors, birdwatchers, walkers and naturalists.
  • Estuary shoreline has small sheltered inlets and is a walkers and bird watcher's paradise on the migratory route of the magnificent osprey to Scotland and now to North Wales.
  • There is a footpath leading from the cottage directly onto the foreshore - perfect for keen fisher folk.

Cosy cottage with great inglenook fire. Very quiet and peaceful with fantastic views from the back garden. Although the location is very secluded, there is still relatively easy access to local towns and beaches.

Walk all or part of the Daugleddau Trail near waterside cottage

  • Walk the long distance Daugleddau Trail, pets are welcome. Visit the romantic ruins of Carew Castle, Carew Mill, enjoy lovely walks through the ancient woodland of Minwear & indulge yourselves at Nash Farm Tea room.

Boat Trips to Bird Islands

  • Boat Trips leave from Neyland Marina, Tenby, Saundersfoot and Martins Haven to cruise the coastline and visit the off shore islands of Ramsey, Skomer and Skolkholm all teeming with sea birds and Caldey Island home to Cistercian Monks for over a thousand years. You are very likely to see dolphins, seals and or porpoises on route. Remember your binoculars and cameras.

Picton Castle & Gardens

  • Take a guided tour around the 700 year old castle, and learn of its fascinating history from its days as a heavily fortified residence to the present day as a quality tourist attraction.
  • 40 acres of superb walled and woodland gardens to stroll through and watch for birds. Carefully planned to provide colour and interest all year round. Enjoy a picnic under the trees or visit the excellent courtyard cafe/restaurant.

Cwm Deri Welsh Wines, Martletwy

  • Sample the delights of Welsh wines at Cwm Deri Vineyard. Try wine tasting, wine making, a vineyard walk, the pets corner and delicious food in the vineyard restaurant.

Oakwood Leisure Park

  • For a family fun day out visit Oakwood Leisure Park popular with teenagers. From white knuckle rides, to entertaining events there is something for everyone. With a variety of places to eat and space to enjoy a picnic, you can stay all day. Even your pet dog is welcome.

Lawrenny Riverside Village & The Quay Cafe

  • A quaint little village on the eastern banks of the Cleddau river, with the multi award winning licensed Quayside tearoom overlooking the water serving delicious light lunches, fresh coffee and cakes to die for. There are two delightful circular walks from here

  • Anne Gregson and Jo Davies are a mother and daughter partnership. Their colourful and lively work responds to the natural world. They experiment with different mediums including drawing, papier mache, watercolour, oils, acrylic, and silk. They welcome visitors to their Green Dragon Environmental Awarded Little Wedlock studio/gallery.

Slebech Park Restaurant & Garden (5 miles east of Haverfordwest)

  • Lovers of great food and fresh local ingredients will love Slebech Park one of the finest restaurants in Pembrokeshire. Enjoy brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or an evening meal in the stylish dining room or al fresco on the terrace overlooking the river. On Sundays, try an informal Italian supper of 'pasta in the park'. While there, do take a stroll around the extensive kitchen gardens and see the flourishing produce before it reaches the kitchen.

The Grove Restaurant, Molleston near Narberth

  • Modern country food using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible is served in the panelled dining room, the lounge bar and in the new garden room with terrace surrounded by trees, gardens and wild flowers.

Puddleduck Trout Fishery

  • Keen fisher folk will enjoy Puddleduck's two stream fed lakes in the beautiful three and a half acres of woodland in Freystrop. Trout up to 2 lbs can be caught, so remember your fishing gear and favourite seafood recipes.

Carew, Castle & Tidal Mill

  • Do visit the little village of Carew on the river Cleddau. An easy circular walk of just a few miles takes you alongside lovely Carew Castle, a hybrid of Elizabethan fancy and earlier defensive necessity, an ancient Celtic Cross, the only restored tidal mill in Wales and the Carew Inn a family friendly venue serving delicious homemade food and real ales at reasonable prices.

Caldey Island

  • Buy your boat trip tickets from the kiosk on Tenby Harbour slipway. Look out for marine wildlife en-route. You will see seabirds. You may see dolphins. The island has been home to Cistercian monks for a thousand years. They farm the land and produce perfume, chocolate and shortbread all on sale in the island shop. Stroll around the countryside, relax on one of the beautiful sandy beaches and do visit the grade II listed Abbey. A peaceful and relaxing day out for all.
