The house was clean, well appointed and very suitable for a holiday for two dogs, four children, four adults and one antique (me).

P Hancock - 31st August 2018

Very clean and well presented on arrival. Smelt really fresh and clean which we like. Very well equipped. It would have been fine stars but for a few little maintenance things, like not knowing where spare electric bulbs were and a curtain pole which was a little unsecure. We took this down as we had little boys running around. I am sure it must be difficult to get in to do DIY things at the height of the summer. But this did not take away from the fact Great Nash is a really lovely house to stay in. We too liked Ben!

About the Area
South Pembrokeshire Beaches and Coastal Path
  • South Pembrokeshire's glorious beaches including Broad Haven South, beautiful Barafundle, Freshwater East, Freshwater West and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path with its fantastic scenery are all within 15 - 20 minutes drive  - lots of fun for all the family with water sports galore, rock pooling, swimming and beach combing.
Little England Beyond Wales
  • South Pembrokeshire is often referred to as 'little England beyond Wales'. The locals speak English, place names are English and yet the area is surrounded by Welsh speakers on all sides even in north Pembrokeshire! During the 12th century Henry I allowed a number of Flemish to settle and they were soon joined by English settlers. The Flemish and English languages were similar at the time. This led to the extinction of Welsh in the area.
  • Small boats can be launched from nearby Llangwm, a sleepy village with a long and colourful history, which nestles on the western bank of the Cleddau Estuary - Pembrokeshire's 'Secret Waterway'.
  • Once a fishing village, famous for oysters, cockles, herrings and its tough fisherwomen who sold their wares all over the county, Llangwm is now renowned for its annual Scarecrow Festival held in late June/July and a grand New Year's Day firework display. There is a village shop/pharmacy, post office, The Cottage Inn (good bar food) and the Rugby Club - visitors welcome!
Pembrokeshire's Secret Waterway & National Park
  • Do explore this unique local inland detached section of the Pembrokeshire National Park - a peaceful, tranquil area with lovely scenery, bird life aplenty and lots of wonderful woodland and riverside walks and waterside villages.
  • Castles galore within an easy drive include romantic Carew, magnificent Pembroke and beautiful Manorbier as well as picturesque gardens to delight at Upton and Picton Castles.
Marloes and Dale
  • Dale on the Milford Haven Waterway is a water sports Mecca in a sheltered bay. The sparkling waters and gently shelving beach are perfect for wind surfing, sailing and kayaking.
  • Tuition and rentals are available from West Wales Wind, Surf and Sail in Dale village.
  • Boat trips out to the Pembrokeshire Islands can also be taken from nearby Martin Haven.
  • Marloes Sands is a must visit, this National Trust beach is fabulous with spectacular geology, great for rock pooling.
Milford Marina and Museum
  • Once a commercial quayside, the busy marina is now lined with cafes, restaurants, smart shops and Phoenix Bowl - a ten pin bowling alley with an indoor play area.
  • Milford Haven Heritage & Maritime Museum is situated in the old whale oil storage building built in 1797 and one of the oldest buildings in the town.
  • The museum illustrates the major industries of the town's past and present - whaling, fishing and petroleum.
The Torch Theatre, Milford Haven
  • Do visit the excellent Torch Theatre for live performances, cinema screenings, gallery, bar and cafe throughout the year.
Shearwater Safaris
  • Thrilling boat trips leave from Neyland Marina on the Cleddau River to discover the Secret Waterway, explore the bustling Haven Waterway and visit internationally important bird islands teeming with wildlife, spotting seals, dolphins and birds along the way.
Family Days out and Treats for all for guests at large Pembrokeshire holiday house
  • Enjoy family fun days out at nearby Oakwood Leisure Park, Folly Farm, Manor House Wild Life Park and do visit Tenby - a bustling Victorian seaside resort with 5 fabulous beaches, its 'Grand Design' newly renovated lifeboat house and take one of the regular sailings from the harbour to the tranquil monastic island of Caldey.
  • For a holiday treat enjoy a visit to local beautician - 'Beauty Within', (07795 431671) - All sorts of delights are on offer - facials, massages, manicures/pedicures, tans, waxing and lots more besides and if there are several in your party then Sophie, the salon owner, will be very happy to come to you!
Boat Trips to Bird Islands
  • Wildlife and bird enthusiasts are sure to delight in exhilarating sea safaris on a fast rib to the bird islands of Skomer, Grassholm, Skokholm - breathtaking sights of sea birds, seals and dolphins from Martin's Haven (10 miles) or for the less adventurous a cruise around Grassholm aboard the larger and more sedate Dale Princess.
This welcoming home is large and spacious an ideal choice for extended families or friends sharing to explore Pembrokeshire at any time of year.
