It's nice and quiet, provided soap is very fragrant. A suggestion would be to move the rafter from the middle of the cottage. Other than that, thank you for having us here.

Wonderful week. Weather good to us, lovely cosy cottage. Walked every day except the rainy one. Beautiful coastal views & hidden coves - Recommend walk from Porthgain to Blue Lagoon & the Sloop Inn for a welcome drink & lunch. Solva is lovely and very quaint. thanks for all the goodies on arrival they were much appreciated.

Fabulous cottage. V.well equipped with thoughtful touches - wine, flowers etc. Great coastal walks & v. lucky with the weather. Solva is pretty & the best pub is definitely the Cambrian Inn. the Shed at Porthgain is also v.good but busy so book.

St Davids Peninsula Cottage Farmhouse near Solva & St Davids, Pembrokeshire Pets welcome

  • Period west Wales cottage farmhouse built in traditional 17th C Pembrokeshire style on the farmstead which is listed in the Black Book of St Davids, in existence since 1326. A home for generations of the Rees family in the Solva Valley. Pets are welcome.
  • Quality, comfort & character assured (low head room). Elegant, stylish cottage furnishings and fabrics.
  • Warm and comfortable throughout the year (central heating and open fire), popular with smaller families for winter breaks and honeymoon couples. Sleeps 5.
  • Adjoining Cerbid House (Ref. 04) but completely independent with its own driveway and extensive private grounds. Pets are welcome too.
  • Short breaks are available at Cerbid Old Farmhouse on the St Davids Peninsula near Solva. Please phone for price and availability.
  • Dog owners are welcome to walk and exercise their dogs off lead in Cerbid's paddocks (providing there is no livestock). The surrounding quiet country lanes are perfect for morning dog walks.


Provided for your pleasure are Welsh milk and butter, wine, flowers, fluffy towels, facecloths, kitchen teacloths and local handmade bathroom lotions and soaps.

3 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 5 adults.

1 Double on ground floor with wash basin. 1 Twin with wash basin & 1 Single on 1st floor.

Bathroom on 1st floor with full suite.

Shower Room on ground floor with shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin.

Kitchen galley kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer/dryer.

Lounge/Dining Room attractive period room with open, highly efficient, log-burning fire in the large inglenook. A wealth of original beams and stone walls. 2 x 3 seater sofas, TV/video/DVD, iPod/iPhone docking station, antique Welsh settle, circular dining table and chairs seating 5. Stairs to 1st floor.

  • St Davids is Britain's smallest city with a magnificent medieval Cathedral nestled at its heart. A village really with a variety of interesting shops, galleries, crafts and a choice of places to eat and drink. Do take the opportunity to book a memorable boat trip out to the spectacular off-lying bird islands.
  • Water sports, golf, pony riding, fishing, boat trips all nearby
  • 12 beautiful beaches and coves to explore around the Solva & St Davids Peninsula

Water sports

  • Water sport enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with opportunities close by to try surfing, coasteering, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, diving, power kiting, kite boarding, wake boarding and more.

Whitesands Bay

  • Whitesands Bay and Newgale - just two of twelve beautiful beaches and coves to choose from.
  • Keen walkers will enjoy the 5 mile half day walk around St Davids Peninsula from Whitesands Bay. The views are magnificent.
  • Pets are welcome too from October through to April.

Ramsey Island

  • Some of the highest sea cliffs in Wales and home or resting place to thousands of sea birds including the chough. A special combination of wild flowers and gorse in the heath land provides habitats for rare small birds. Hundreds of grey seals are born on the island every year. Ramsey offers a wonderful spectacle whatever the time of year. Book a boat trip in St Davids.

Golfing in Pembrokeshire

  • Pembrokeshire has a wide variety of championship golf courses to choose from - many with excellent club house restaurants. Priskilly, Newport, Cardigan and Haverfordwest are all within easy reach.
  • Just above Whitesands beach is St Davids City Golf Club, the most westerly golf course in Wales. This 9 hole course has 18 tees playable all year round - no winter greens, no winter tees, no muddy feet - with fabulous views of Whitesands Bay, St Davids Head and Ramsey Island .

Solva Harbour Village

  • A picturesque village and quay alongside a fjord-like estuary. There is a handful of interesting shops, a gallery, a pottery, antiques and a choice of places to eat and drink. Do walk out to the headland and enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery.
  • Delicious freshly caught lobster is available in Upper Solva near to Bay View Stores.
  • Solva's excellent village shop, post office and off-licence, Bay View Stores, sells groceries, papers and angling supplies and offers a delivery service.

Solva Woollen Mill

  • Visitors are welcomed at Solva Woollen Mill at Middlemill, Solva. It is the oldest working woollen mill in Pembrokeshire specialising in flat woven stair runners, carpets and floor rugs. Traditional methods are used to create contemporary designs appreciated by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall on their visit during the renovation of their Welsh home.

St Bride's Bay Water Taxi for Walkers

  • Solva Sailboats operate a water taxi which will take you to your chosen destination from where you can walk back along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Solva. Possible destinations include Porth Clais, Porthmynawydd, St Justinians, Nolton Haven and Little Haven (weather dependent). Phone 01437 720972.

Picton Castle & Gardens

  • Picton Castle and Gardens - guided tours of this beautiful 13th century castle span nearly 800 years of history. It is a great place to visit with a fab cafe!

  • For family days out try Dr Beynon's Bug Farm and Grub Kitchen, Oakwood, Heatherton Sports Park, Folly Farm or perhaps Manor Wildlife Park. There is something to appeal to all ages and all are an easy drive from Cerbid Old Farmhouse.
