Pembrokeshire Coastal Path & National Trust Common

  • A path across the owners farmland leads directly to the Coastal Path and the National Trust owned common land which stretches over St Davids Head and includes the small, sandy cove of Porth Melgan.
  • There is wonderful scenery, ancient field patterns, the ruins of the lost medieval village of Maes y Mynydd and Coetan Arthur, a Neolithic Burial Chamber (4000 BC). Enjoy birds galore, carpets of wild flowers in the early summer, butterflies, peace and tranquillity.

Carn Llidi, Whitesands & Caerfai

  • Carn Llidi 'mountain' is the backdrop to Whitesands Beach. This rugged outcrop overlooks the glorious curve of Whitesands' fine golden sands, a beach popular with families and one of the best surfing beaches in Wales! There is a well stocked beach shop here too!
  • On the other side of the peninsula Caerfai Bay is a beautiful sandy cove just great for swimming, snorkelling and rock pooling.

  • St Davids with its magnificent medieval Cathedral is a must to visit whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire.
  • There are boutique shops, artists' galleries and a variety of eating and drinking places.Stock up on delicious local produce from the weekly farmers market on the Square.
  • All within a 30 minute walk of this cottage.

This 9 hole course with 18 tees is playable all year round - no winter greens, no winter tees, no muddy feet - and has fabulous views overlooking Whitesands Bay, Ramsey Sound and the infamous 'Bitches' stretch of water just south of St Davids Head.

Boat Trips

  • Boat trips to suit all tastes leave from St Justinians and Whitesands Bay during the season (April to October) to circle Ramsey Island and to see the marine wildlife, birds and spectacular Pembrokeshire coastal scenery. Go dolphin and whale spotting too with longer trips out to Grassholm and the lighthouse! Book tickets in St Davids. For trips to Skomer Island travel to Martins Haven near Dale on the Marloes peninsula where boats leave several times a day, weather permitting. Tickets are sold on the day of travel at Lockley Lodge.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

  • The Pembrokeshire coastal path stretches the whole length of the coastline and is within easy reach of Carn Llidi Cottage. Enjoy fabulous cliff top walking and breathtaking scenery.
  • The path follows the rugged coastline to the beaches and coves to the north and to the south it encircles the peninsula through Whitesands, Porth Sele, St Justinians, Porth Clais and Caerfai Bay - never straying more than a couple of miles from the cottage.
  • Walk as far as you like and get a dedicated walkers bus back. Buses call in at all beaches, coves and villages along the coast.
