Pet-Friendly characterful stone cottage, with bike storage - sleeps 4 guests and 1 dog

  • In the heart of the Dowrog Common, this lovingly refurbished semi-detached stone cottage is set down a quiet single track lane with wonderful rural views across open farmland and the common. It's a delightful location for lovers of peace and tranquillity and wildlife.
  • Meaning Door of Hope, Drws Gobaith, is thought to have acquired its name from pilgrims as they neared the sacred shrine at St. Davids. The massive standing stone Maen Dewi (Dewi's Stone) located on the boundary of the garden was believed to be a valuable landmark on the journey.
  • The comfortable accommodation offers a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, 3 bedrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. The rear garden is unenclosed and there is a small stream to the side and front of the property.
  • Drws Gobaith is a lovely place to relax in, get away from it all and simply while away the time! Enjoy fantastic evenings star gazing - there is no light pollution here to spoil the starry skies.

3 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4. 1 Double and 2 Singles all on the 1st floor.

Bathroom on 1st floor with shower over bath, toilet and washbasin.

Sitting Room 1 x 2 seater sofa and 2 x armchairs, Smart TV/DVD with Free view, wood burning stove. Plenty of books about the local area to enjoy.

Kitchen/Dining Area with fitted units, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, dining table and chairs. (The Aga is for show only, it may or may not be on, however it is usually on over the winter months).

Utility Room with washer and dryer and storage space.

Cloakroom with toilet and hand basin.

Grounds rear unenclosed garden with picnic bench, and shed for bike storage. There is a small stream to the front and side of the property.

NB - This property is unsuitable for children under 8 as the garden is unenclosed and there is a small stream to the front and side of the property.

Dowrog Common

  • The beautiful Dowrog Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or SSSI).The large lowland heath supports a wealth of wildflowers, birds and insects including the Marsh Fritillary butterfly, Scarlet Tiger moth, Hen Harriers and Short-eared Owls.

Whitesands Bay Blue Flag Status

  • A wide expanse of soft white sand curves north towards the rocky headland of St Davids. This lovely beach is popular with families, surfers and walkers. There is a well stocked beach shop and cafe here too! Carn Llidi 'mountain' is the backdrop to Whitesands Beach - climb up this rugged outcrop to enjoy the magnificent view overlooking the glorious curve of Whitesands' fine golden sands.

St Davids Peninsula - Boat Trips to Bird Islands and cliff walks

  • There are all kinds of activities for the family to enjoy - take a boat trip (fast or slow) around the £ Bird Islands' and £ whale and dolphin spotting', try surfing, coasteering, sea kayaking, cycling (bikes for hire locally) a round or two of golf at the cliff top St Davids Links Golf Course, walk the Coastal Path or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful Beaches.

St Davids Cathedral City

  • St Davids, with its magnificent 12th century Cathedral, is Britain's smallest city. A village really, full of interesting shops, galleries, crafts and a choice of places to eat and drink. Enjoy delicious wholesome food at The Refrectory served in the stunning Cathedral setting. Do try The Bench with its home made £ Italian' ice cream.
  • Oriel Y Parc Caf£ offers breakfast and lunches with locally sourced produce and whilst there Oriel Y Parc Gallery is well worth a visit. Entry is free and featured works include those of Graham Sutherland, who bequeathed a body of his artwork to Pembrokeshire.

  • A choice of thrilling activities awaits you, canoeing, coasteering, sailing, surfing and lots more. Activity days available for children and for families to enjoy.

Solva Village, Pembrokeshire

  • Solva village with its quaint picturesque harbour and small beach has lots to enjoy - fish for crabs from the harbour at high tide or rock-pool and paddle on the beach at low tide or enjoy the selection of shops it has to offer. Solva also has some great eateries. The Cambrian is a 16th century village pub serving great food and a wonderful Sunday Lunch. The Old Pharmacy Tea Room is the place to go for Afternoon tea and homemade cake.

St Bride's Bay Water Taxi for Walkers

  • Solva Sailboats operate a water taxi which will take you to your chosen destination from where you can walk back along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Solva. Possible destinations include Porth Clais, Porthmynawydd, St Justinians, Nolton Haven and Little Haven (weather dependent). Phone 01437 720972.

Harbour Lights Gallery, Porthgain

    • The Harbour Lights Gallery at Porthgain exhibits some of Pembrokeshire's best art work. Combine your visit with a drink and a bite in the old Sloop Inn or a special seafood meal at award winning The Shed Restaurant on the harbour side.

    Pembrokeshire Sheep Dogs near Abereiddi

    • Do make time to watch these delightful intelligent dogs at different stages of their training working with sheep and ducks. Demonstrations are held during the summer months.

    Nolton Haven & East Nolton Riding Stables

    • The pretty little seaside village of Nolton Haven has a sandy beach, 150 year old stone chapel clinging to the cliff side, a pub serving homemade food and ales and East Nolton Riding Stables who will take you galloping across the beach.
