    About Golwg Llidi

This beautiful, brand new property sits conveniently on the edge of the smallest city in Britain and is a must-see for all guests who love a luxurious stay. Recently developed and with all mod cons throughout, Golwg Llidi provides guests with a comfortable and sumptuous stay in its four spacious bedrooms and palatial living space, with floor-to-ceiling glass panelling affording views across from your contemporary accommodation to ancient cairns and hinting towards the stunning coastal scenery beyond.

Golwg Llidi is perfectly positioned for guests eager to take in all that this small but bustling city has to offer while being on the outskirts of the action for restful nights and peaceful breaks. It's a short walk to boutique shops, supermarkets, fantastic cafes, and the stunning cathedral which was built on the spot where the patron saint of Wales, David, formed a monastic community in the 6th century.

Perfectly located between Caerfai beach and Whitesands beach, Golwg Llidi is the perfect location for an escape to the sea air. If it's a family break by the seaside that you're looking for then look no further - with three double bedrooms and a twin room, there's space for all the family on your beach holiday. This gorgeous modern property is situated right on the tip of the St Davids peninsula, so even if you're not heading to the beach, you'll still benefit from the sea air from your private patio area.

The views from this property are outstanding - from the high-ceilinged lounge and dining area, you can see the ancient rock of Carn Llidi which sits majestically above Whitesands beach. These ancient rocks are a reminder of the dramatic geography of the St Davids peninsula which you can enjoy while relaxing on the large sofas in the light-filled lounge or enjoying a meal with your group with a fantastic backdrop and great conversation.

This property is conveniently all on one level so that everyone has access to each room. The rooms are spacious - each of the four bedrooms has ample wardrobe space and dressers and mirrors for getting ready for a night out in one of St Davids' wonderful restaurants. If you'd rather eat in, the gorgeously grey, chic kitchen has everything you need to cook up a real feast.

The master suite has the same outstanding views over Carn Llidi, while also enjoying a brand new, opulent en-suite bathroom with a large shower, WC, wash handbasin, and mirror. The family bathroom is equally as decadent with a shower and bath with overhead shower; a perfect addition for relaxing or for washing off sand after a day exploring this scenic peninsula and its stunning beaches.

With ample garage space, private parking, and a beautiful enclosed patio area with seating, Golwg Llidi offers everything you and your family could possibly need for a comfortable, relaxing stay on one of the world's most famous coastlines.

Beautiful cottage, walking distance from the high street but far enough to have some quiet with beautiful views. It was clean, modern and spacious, perfect for our Christmas week away. Fitted with everything you would ever need, we had a very stress-free stay. We were also given all the necessary information before arriving which made everything much easier. The owner was also very accommodating when it came to an earlier check-in. Would definitely recommend for a beautiful stay in a stunning location.

We spent a wonderful weekend at Golwg Llidi. The home is beautifully presented and provides a calm, relaxing atmosphere for a wonderful retreat. It is situated in an excellent location, within walking distance of the beautiful city of St David's and just a stone's throw from some of Pembrokeshire's stunning beaches! We can't wait to visit again! Diolch!

    About the Area

If you would like more information on the local area, please call us on 01348 837871 to speak to one of our friendly team.

Whitesands beach is only a few minutes drive from your accommodation and is one of the most popular beaches in North Pembrokeshire. With excellent access to the beach, parking alongside the shore, a cafe, an ice cream stand, lifeguards, and surf equipment for hire, as well as disabled access and benches all around, this stunning stretch of sand is perfect for all the family. A beautiful clifftop walk gives a better view of the beach and leads on to nearby Porthllisky beach and on to St Davids head where you have incredible views of Ramsey Island and St Bride's Bay.

For the best views around, head to Garn Llidi, high above Whitesands beach, with panoramic views of the peninsula from the WW2 outpost just before the peak. Otherwise, a fantastic walk is about 20 minutes north, from Garn Fawr, looking down over Strumble Head lighthouse below. With 186-miles of the coastal national park with excellent and well-maintained walking paths to choose from, you're never far from a spectacular coastal view and an excellent afternoon hike from your accommodation.

Explore the cobbled streets right on your doorstep. In Britain's smallest city, St Davids, you can marvel at the exquisite cathedral set in the valley below what was formerly the village of Menevia before the cathedral's creation turned these cobbled streets into a mini-city. Learn about Wales' Patron Saint, David, and his mother Non, whose chapel sits a mile to the north of the city on the cliff's edge. St Davids is well-known for its boutique shops and a beautiful square with gardens and a large Celtic cross, as well as being the hub for upmarket eateries, delicatessens, and takeaway restaurants.

A 15-minute walk out of the city itself leads to Caerfai Beach. This dog-friendly beach is a family-friendly cove perfect for sandcastles and rock pooling. A short drive will take you to the Blue Flag beach at Whitesands - popular with families and surfers alike. The cafe serves breakfast and evening meals in the summer season or why not enjoy a takeaway and sit on the beach to see the spectacular sunsets.

Further around the peninsula are several small fishing villages, the most notable of which is Solva. Dotted with colourful fisherman's cottages, and with the faint whisper of smuggler's tales about the steep streets, Solva harbour is the perfect place for a walk to see the bobbing boats, take the kids crabbing, or for a crab sandwich for lunch.

For a different perspective of this stunning area, explore the spectacular rugged North Pembrokeshire coast and the offshore islands of Ramsey, Skomer and Skokholm onboard one of the many boat trips that leave from nearby St Justinians. Take a leisurely cruise, go puffin spotting, or try a spot of sea fishing. The walk around the headland from St Justinians is special and takes in the 156-year-old red-roofed lifeboat station that has served these feisty and often treacherous seas before being taken over by the new lifeboat station that sits beside it which began operations in 2017.

A short drive north takes you to Melin Tregwynt, a beautiful whitewashed mill nestled into a remote forested valley not far from the beautiful Abermawr beach. Working since the 17th century, beautiful blankets, throws, and cushions are made there the traditional way. Don't miss the opportunity to buy one. They are ideal to snuggle under on a winter's day or for a hot chocolate outdoors in many of the coves leading back to Golwg Llidi such as Aberbach, Porthgain or Abereiddy.

If you're looking for a day out to entertain the children, then you have several nearby to take advantage of - St Davids Escape Rooms is in the small hamlet of Tretio, a short walk from your cottage. How about a totally different experience? The Bug Farm is dedicated to all things bugs, including petting some bugs, learning about the history of bugs in the museum, and even eating them in Grub Cafe - cricket cookies, anyone?
