This is a fantastic little cottage in a great town. My partner and I were very happy as soon as we walked through the door. The Forge surpassed our expectations. The finish/standard of the entire property was extremely high, artwork on the walls, beautiful lamps, comfy sofas, ample space, log burner, comfy bed and incredible copper bath and amazing shower. The location is amazing too - st Davids was nice and quiet and everything we need was within walking distance and the Cathedral was directly behind us and was great to watch the sunset. Whitesands beach was 7 mins by car and the coastal path was easy to connect with from port Clais. Fodo in town was good, we loved the veggie Sunday roast at the farmer's arms. We stayed an entire week and would have happily stayed for two!
The cottage was beautiful and well equipped, in a fantastic location close to the centre of St Davids. The only issues were the parking, there really is not enough space for 2 cars, and the bed which was really uncomfortable and really need a new mattress, such a shame for an otherwise fabulous property.
Well equipped cottage with everything you need for a comfortable week. The shared parking (with the granary above) for two cars is a bit over ambitious but was not a problem as the granary above was not occupied when we stayed

Pleased that you enjoyed your stay thank you for your feedback.
The Forge was a great base for exploring St Davids and the surrounding area. It was full of character but also very comfortable. We loved the deep copper bath...perfect for having a soak in after a day of walking. The kitchen was really well equipped , and the welcome milk, bread etc was much appreciated. The king size bed was very comfortable and despite being on a road it was very quiet at night. The only criticism is that the details say that the parking will fit 2 small/ medium cars but I would amend that to 2 small cars. We didnt park at the property but used the cathedral car park, 5 minutes walk away.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are looking at making some changes with regard to the parking, delighted that you enjoyed this fabulous property.
We had a couple of issues.First the information given to the Granary above on the Internet was that parking outside was for the Forge only. I realised from other reviews and from the information pack that this was not the case. It should be stressed that anything larger than a medium car would not be able to fit if there was another car. Our estate car was too big. The occupiers above were very kind but as they had a young baby in their party we didnt feel it was right to ask them to move their car for us to fit. Luckily they lent us their parking permit but we werent happy about leaving it in an empty rural car park overnight quite an uphill walk back up to the cottage too. The parking arrangements should be made very clear for both properties on the Internet. Also the bathroom smelt of stale urine all the week, I was unable to source the smell but it was quite unpleasant at times. All in all I would have no hesitation to return to the Forge if I knew we could safely park outside.

If you've ever visited a holiday cottage before, you most likely have seen a guestbook in the property for guests to leave a review for others when they arrive. Each of the following comments was lovingly left by people just like you in the guestbook left at The Forge.
We have so enjoyed our stay at The Forge, a lovely mixture of new & old. So much to do around St Davids. We will definintely visit again. A visit to Picton Castle & Gardens is a must on a sunny day.
Lovely location, great week, nice property. Thanks to Louise, much appreciated.
We've had a superb week in the very comfortable Gorge. The weather has mostly been sunny with northerly breeze. We managed a brilliant trip out to Ramsey and saw lots of interesting birds. Also did some spectacular cliff walks to St Davids Head and around Porthgain.2 v. good eating places there. Also enjoyed the Cwtch restaurant in St Davids. The whole area is delightful and I'm sure we will return. Thank you for a lovely cottage.
We were amazed at how well finished and luxurious The Forge was and the location couldn't be better. We loved having the log burning stove and really comfortable seating area to relax in on the evenings. We had everything we needed for our stay and more. I would give the bed 5 stars alone! We love Pembrokeshire and being in St Davids gave us the perfect base to explore everywhere.
This was our first visit to the Forge in the picturesque city of St David's. This charming apartment is light and airy, cosy and welcoming. We liked the combination of modern and antique style furniture; the kitchen is modern and functional and there is room for 4 at the table. The sitting area has comfortable settees and we could light the wood burning stove on chilly evenings. The bedroom is spacious with a very comfortable bed and ample storage space. The surprise was in the ensuite bathroom which boasts a copper bath! This is deep and I loved the luxury of a long soak; my husband favoured the shower! Good points are the utility room with washing/drying facilities and a private parking space. My husband and I loved our stay in this special 19th century former forge. Lots of history in the thick stone walls. We will definitely return to visit the city again and explore more of the stunning countryside and beaches of this area.
