Nestled in the heart of St Davids - the UK's smallest city - enjoy a fabulous selection of golden beaches, including Caerfai and Whitesands, and the world-famous Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, just minutes away. With its decorated history and engaging city centre, St Davids is a blossoming hive of activity with shops, pubs, and cafes in abundance. However, it's the spectacular St Davids Cathedral and Bishop's Palace which really steals the show. Dating back to the 6th Century, these architectural marvels have been a place of pilgrimage for generations.
The Nest is right on the doorstep of the action and offers a perfectly located opportunity to escape for a seaside break. From St Davids, you can walk to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, both east and west. The cliffs are spectacular; the bird and wildlife are captivating; the sea and sky a constantly changing panorama. The Coast Path circles the Peninsula offering miles of breathtaking coastline, all within the easy reach of a two-mile radius.
Blue Shark Cruises and Fishing Trips, St Justinians
Explore the spectacular rugged North Pembrokeshire coast and the offshore island of Ramsey on board Blue Shark. Take a leisurely cruise or try a spot of fishing. Mackerel for supper anyone?
Caerfai Beach and Whitesands Beach
A 15-minute walk leads to Caerfai Beach. This dog-friendly beach is a family-friendly cove perfect for sandcastles and rock pooling. A short drive will take you to the Blue Flag beach at Whitesands - popular with families and surfers alike. The cafe serves breakfast and evening meals in the summer season or why not enjoy a takeaway and sit on the beach to see the spectacular sunsets.
Coastal Shuttle Buses
If you would like to leave your car behind, jump onto the local coastal bus service - and travel up or down the coast. You can leave and join the bus at will and services run the length of the coastal path.
TYF Adventure Day
Do something a little different and get the adrenaline flowing on an adventure day out. Kayaking, surfing, climbing, coasteering. Take a step into the unknown with the experienced guides at TYF (the booking shop is in the heart of St. Davids). But best of all do it in the beautiful and rugged surroundings of the Pembrokeshire Coast.
Solva
This is a pretty village with parking on the harbour-side. With the chinking of boat halyards in the background. Try Fish and Chips at '35' (next to the harbour car park) and investigate the shops - clothes and gifts, antiques, pottery, and curios. Walk along the Quay to the Cafe at the Yacht Club and enjoy a freshly caught crab sandwich and watch the boating activity.
St Bride's Bay Water Taxi for Walkers
Solva Sailboats operate a water taxi that will take you to your chosen destination from where you can walk back along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Solva. Possible destinations include Porth Clais, Porthmynawydd, St Justinians, Nolton Haven and Little Haven (weather dependent). Phone 01437 720972.
Porthgain and Aberreiddy
A charming village with an attractive harbour. In the 18th and 19th centuries, it was a flourishing seaport exporting slate and shale. Now it is a quaint harbour occupied with small fishing boats. Don't miss the opportunity to buy crab fresh off the boat when the fishermen return. Have dinner in- or outdoors the Sloop Inn, and enjoy some of the finest Fish and Chips at the Shed where locally caught crab and lobster is also served. Walk along the coast path to the amazing Blue Lagoon at Aberreiddy. A former slate quarry with unnaturally blue water. Look out for the seals. Simply exhilarating.
Melin Tregwnt Woollen Mill
A beautiful whitewashed mill, to be found in a remote forested valley. Working since the 17th century, beautiful blankets, throws and cushions are made there the traditional way. Don't miss the opportunity to buy one. They are ideal to snuggle under on a winter's day and Goat Street cottage features their blankets and cushions.
Family Days out in Pembrokeshire
Further south in the county there are theme parks galore with diversions for all the family. Look up Oakwood Theme Park, Blue Lagoon Water Park, Folly Farm Zoo, Dinosaur Park Tenby, Manor Wildlife Park and Heatherton Sports Park for a good mix.

A lot to see and do in Tenby at any time of the year, elegant boutiques, craft shops, museums and art galleries to browse, a large variety of eating places, pubs and ice cream parlours to tempt, boat trips, fishing, sailing, wind and kite surfing, spectacular cliff top walks and Blue Flag beaches to enjoy.
