Property Description

Purpose built first-floor apartment with parking, situated in a quiet holiday complex in the centre of St Davids, Britain's Smallest City

  • Whitesands is a two-bedroom first-floor apartment sleeping 4 and has all that you need for your holiday base.

  • Step through the front door to the hallway and into the cosy lounge with sofa, armchairs and Freeview TV.

  • The kitchen is well equipped and accommodates an electric cooker, fridge and compartment freezer and microwave and table and seating for 4.

  • Upstairs there are two bright and light bedrooms. From the double bedroom, there are views from the velux windows across to Carn Llidi and the St.Davids countryside. The twin bedroom faces onto the High Street and is cosy and comfortable.

  • The bathroom is fully fitted with a bath, shower over the bath and toilet and wash hand basin.

  • There is a central courtyard, but no garden as such, however, the central location and parking more than make up for this.

  • Welcome meetings are held each week and are a great way to find out about the best things to do in the area. In the summer, weekly barbeques are put on for guests in the courtyard. Food orders can be obtained ready for your arrival and left in your apartment from the Delicatessen below (ask at time of booking).

About the Area

St Davids Peninsula beaches

  • The St Davids Peninsula is blessed with a range of beaches to suit every taste - Whitesands' wide sandy beach is great for surfing and sandcastles, kite flying, rock pooling and games of cricket; Caerfai has a steep walk down to a lovely south facing sandy beach, sheltered by the surrounding cliffs; Porthlisky beach is only accessible along the coast path and so is secluded and untroubled by the crowds; Caerbwdi is a stony beach with sand at low tide - the stone here was quarried to provide the purple stone of the cathedral.

The City of St Davids
  • Although St Davids has the status of a city it is in reality a small village. Useful as a source of groceries - there is a well-stocked supermarket, butchers and greengrocers, as well as a post office, ice cream and chocolate shop and two banks. There are also galleries and shops - clothes, gifts and outdoor gear; come and browse or buy - it is a delightful place to while away your holiday!

  • Don't miss the outdoor farmers' market on Thursdays throughout the summer on the Cross Square - all sorts of local produce and tasty morsels.

St Davids Cathedral and the Bishops' Palace
  • St Davids Cathedral, both a historical monument as well as a place of worship, was built in 1181 and has weathered the centuries with varying fortunes. Visit the refectory in the newly restored cloisters for coffee or a meal and take time to enjoy the history and atmosphere of this very special place.

  • Across the tiny river Alun is the ruined Bishops' Palace with its lovely decorated stonework, wheel window, halls and stairways. Restored sufficiently to fire the imagination of young and old, let your children play while they absorb the atmosphere of this site of medieval power and influence.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
  • Walk from the apartment to the Pembrokeshire coastal path which stretches the whole length of the Welsh coastline and encircles the St Davids Peninsula. Enjoy fabulous cliff top walking and breathtaking scenery within easy reach, never more than a couple of miles from the Apartment.

  • The path follows the rugged coastline and encircles the peninsula through Whitesands, Porthsele, St Justinians, Porthclais and Caerfai Bay - walk as far as you like and get a dedicated walkers’ bus back. In the summer busses call in at all beaches, coves and villages along the coast.

Boat Trips – book in St Davids to visit the offshore islands

  • Boat trips to suit all tastes leave from St Justinians during the season (April to October) to circle Ramsey Island and to see the marine wildlife, birds and spectacular Pembrokeshire coastal scenery.

  • Go dolphin and whale spotting too with longer trips out to Grassholm and the lighthouse!  Book your tickets in St Davids.

Newgale Sands and Nolton Haven
  • Newgale with its 2 miles of golden sands, beloved by surfers and kite surfers - wet suits and boards can be hired - the Coastal Path can be joined here.

Hilton Court

  • Always a nice place to visit with a pretty garden centre, craft shops and a tea room. Ideal destination for some retail therapy, sample great food or simply somewhere to relax.
Family Fun
  • Tour beautiful Pembrokeshire to discover a wealth of quality family attractions including Dr Beynon's Bug Farm and Grub Kitchen, Scolton Manor Museum and Country Park, West Wales Karting, Hangar 5 Trampolie Park, Manor Wildlife Park, Blue Lagoon Water Park, Castell Henllys Reconstructed Iron Age Settlement, Tenby's Tudor Merchant House N.T. and more.
