  • At the base of the Strumble Head Peninsula, with its white-washed lighthouse guarding the Irish Sea, this cottage is a perfect small rural retreat just for two (and maybe a faithful friend or a baby!)
  • Warm, welcoming and comfortably furnished with beamed ceiling, a multi fuel stove to sit by and a mixture of modern and antique furniture the cottage is beside a private country lane in a row of 5 rural cottages, close to the pretty sleepy village of St Nicholas.
  • A door from the sitting room opens out onto a small raised terrace with steps down to the secluded, enclosed private rear garden and patio- a sun trap.
  • This is ideal walking country and there is access near to the cottage up to Ffyst Samson, a Neolithic burial chamber on a rocky plateau - fantastic panoramic views of the whole of St Davids Peninsula including Garn Fawr - the artist John Piper had his studio here in a traditional stone cottage.
  • Shopping for groceries is available in nearby Goodwick, Fishguard, Square & Compass and Letterston - award winning fish and chip shop/restaurant here too.
  • The helpful owner (who lives next door) is happy to advise on places to visit in the area.


Pembrokeshire Coastal Path & Abermawr/Aberbach Beaches
  • Nearby is the beautiful rugged coast with the meandering Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the secluded pebble beaches of Abermawr and Aberbach - backed by woodlands carpeted with bluebells, wood anemones, primroses and wild garlic in early spring.
  • Do visit the Pwll Deri Seal Colony - stunning scenery - particularly in the autumn where there are lots of seal babies.
  • Inland explore tiny country lanes, pretty villages and ancient churches, St Nicholas Church is on the route of 'Saints & Stones' - one of the Pilgrim Ways of Pembrokeshire.

  • St Nicholas Church is on the route of 'Saints & Stones' - one of the Pilgrim Ways of Pembrokeshire - as is the church in the hilltop village of Mathry nearby.
  • Enjoy bar food at The Farmers Arms and a stroll around the village - Mathry Church is well worth a visit.
Melin Tregwnt & Tregwynt Mansion
  • Within a very short drive is Melin Tregwynt, a 100 year old working woollen mill, famous world wide (sold by Harrods) for its traditionally designed and made throws, rugs, cushions and lots more besides.
  • Enjoy browsing the shop and take time for great coffee and perhaps a bite to eat in the coffee shop.

Priskilly Golf Club
  • A short drive away is Priskilly Golf Club - experts and beginners alike welcome - also an excellent 19th hole with home made food and a golf shop where clubs can be hired and all sorts of golf goodies can be bought.
Fishguard & Lower Town
  • Fishguard is a small town with a leisure centre (gym & swimming pool), cinema and a weekly farmers market (Saturday) with lots of lovely produce to buy. Fishguard Lower Town is a picturesque harbour and 'The Ship' a quaint traditional pub near the harbour was a favourite haunt of both Gregory Peck and Richard Burton during the filming of such epics as Moby Dick and Under Milk Wood - still popular today with locals and visitors alike.
St Davids
  • Known as the 'village city' with its magnificent medieval Cathedral and ruined Bishops Palace as well as art and craft galleries including Oriel y Parc and St Davids Studio Gallery is within a 20 minute drive. There are lots of shops, cafes, restaurants to enjoy - why not book a sailing trip out to the unique bird islands and sea wonderful bird and marine life, and see Pembrokeshire's beautiful coastline from a whole new .
