About Llys Bychan

A perfect Pembrokeshire rural retreat just for two

  • At the base of the Strumble Head Peninsula, with its white-washed lighthouse guarding the Irish Sea, this cottage is a perfect small rural retreat just for two (and maybe a faithful friend or a baby!)
  • Warm, welcoming and comfortably furnished with beamed ceiling, a multi fuel stove to sit by and a mixture of modern and antique furniture the cottage is beside a private country lane in a row of 5 rural cottages, close to the pretty sleepy village of St Nicholas.
  • A door from the sitting room opens out onto a small raised terrace with steps down to the secluded, enclosed private rear garden and patio- a sun trap.
  • This is ideal walking country and there is access near to the cottage up to Ffyst Samson, a Neolithic burial chamber on a rocky plateau - fantastic panoramic views of the whole of St Davids Peninsula including Garn Fawr - the artist John Piper had his studio here in a traditional stone cottage.
  • Shopping for groceries is available in nearby Goodwick, Fishguard, Square & Compass and Letterston - award winning fish and chip shop/restaurant here too.
  • The helpful owner (who lives next door) is happy to advise on places to visit in the area.

Well equipped cottage for two in a great setting. Quiet location in the Pembrokeshire countryside. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The only issue was the low water pressure when using the shower. However, this did not detract from our stay, we had a great time here!!

Llys Bychan was just perfect. Very quiet, very nice location, only 5-10 minutes drive to the beautiful coast. The cottage itself was very clean, and was very light and airy, with all you could need if you want tranquility. We took our dog 'Dixie' who is not himself at the moment due to a newly diagnosed problem, and the cottage afforded a lovely small totally enclosed garden for him to 'relax' and enjoy the fresh air.The owner 'Sally' was really nice and very helpful.Overall .. you would be hard pressed to find anything as good if you are after peace and quiet, it really was a 'tonic'.

The best holiday let we've ever stayed in, so peaceful, only the birds and insects are audible. We loved the private gardens and the special touches throughout. Very comfortable, great decor and so well equipped. Would benefit a couple of sun beds on the terrace. But can't fault the Cottage or the friendly welcome.

What a fantastic cottage, so wonderfully appointed and in a great situation to so many different walks on the coastal path...we will have to come back! The dog has loved all the walks and having an enclosed garden. The weather has been fantastic and we have seen some stunning scenery. Thank you for a wonderful week.
