The house was perfect for our family of 16's Christmas together. What great views and had a lovely beach for Freddy the dog. We will be back next time for a summer break. Thank you for sharing your house.

Wonderful family weekend old and young, to celebrate the oldies 60th wedding anniversary. Weather good, house and views good, what more is there to say just a big thank you.

A relaxing and inspirational birthday weekend with the family in a perfect setting. Everything was so convenient - the house (plenty of places to hide, if one had to!) and the town and its interesting history. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and will take home plenty of happy memories.

Once again a fabulous week with family to celebrate early Easter Week. Weather was typical of early Spring, rain, wind, sunshine, warm and cold. However, that has not distracted from an enjoyable week in Tenby, and being in this impressive building and location.

Beautiful property in excellent location. We stayed at St Catherine's House for week in August. I grew up in a Tenby and left 15 years ago so was so excited to be going back and staying in a property I use to admire from the beach as a child.

The property is set on the cliff edge with a private path leading down onto the beach. The views are incredible from all rear facing windows. The owner has gone above and beyond to make the house so homely. So many beautiful touches from games for the children, a library to relax and read in to the beautiful furnishing throughout the house. The beds are amazing and comfortable and the comfiest I ever slept in. From start to finish we felt like we were staying in our own home not a rented property.

I cannot recommend the property highly enough and only hope that future guests appreciate how much care and effort the owner has put into the property. We will definitely be booking for next year and can't wait to return.

Fact for those who don't know Tenby. The beaches are some of the best in the country. There are local pubs within walking distance with a favourites of mine, "The hope & Anchor" right opposite the house which serves great homemade food. Plenty of shops and a Tesco express are a few yards away.

We all want to live in St Catherine's House forever! A special house for a very special occasion and we're so pleased we found you.

Eleven family members came to celebrate a diamond anniversary, and as each of us walked through the door there were squeals of delight... oh and the twelfth member of our family... Rosie the dog was particularly pleased that you welcomed her too...and gave her a garden and a beach.

Thank you for all of us ...absolutely fabulous.

We have had a wonderful time in this beautiful house bringing together family from England, Scotland & USA.

We especially loved all the little extras like tea and coffee making facilities and radios in the bedrooms, luxurious shower gels, hand wash and lotions, books and games.

The views and setting of the house are so perfect we didn't want to stray far but did get over to Barafundle Bay and had an amazing meal at the Stackpole Inn.

Wow! What a wonderful place to celebrate my 30th birthday! It was a complete surprise as I thought I was heading for Worcester.

With 8 adults and 3 children we had plenty of room and lots to do in the area including a lovely walk in Barafundle Bay. The most wonderful view to wake up to and we were blessed with good weather. Would really love to visit again and sure we will.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Thank you for an absolutely perfect location and incredible home to spend a long weekend in. For me, it was a complete surprise as I came here, along with 15 of my best friends to celebrate my Hen weekend.

Weather was glorious and the views exactly what you need to wake up to, after a few too many glasses of Prosecco! We drank tea outside in our pyjamas, made dinners to enjoy in this wonderful kitchen and relaxed on those big sofas after a windy walk and sunset on the beach.

We all talked about how lucky Ruth and Stephen are to have this amazing home and how special it must be to spend a Christmas here. Hopefully one day I will! Thank you. X

A wonderful week in a beautiful house. Amazing location. Beautiful set up with so many bathrooms, bedrooms, appliances to make a luxurious week. All details have been thought of to ensure this was a true holiday for us all. Lucky with the weather too to enjoy the balcony and body boarding from the door. We would highly recommend the house.

A wonderful week filled with sunshine that our extended family have thoroughly enjoyed, both young and old. The views, location, town and beach have all been excellent. The Hope and Anchor has provided great food and beers. They also coped well with even the youngest of the party. The house was everything and more than we could have wished for!

Idyllic holiday home in a superb location

A trusted customer - 21st August 2018

This house is a brilliant family house, great for special gatherings with family and friends. It's location on the beach and in the town is perfect. It is a house of two sides - the back of the house, facing the sea and beach has beautiful views and is quiet while the front of the house has a very noisy pub opposite - not great at night! The furnishings and accommodation are second to none. There is a private access to the beach from the property, unfortunately the previous guests took the only key with them, so may be a good idea to have another one cut!

Barbara Murray - 10th July 2018

The house location could not be bettered, being within the delightful town of Tenby and with private access to the lovely Castle Beach. The views from the front were magnificent and the period features of the property were retained (and beautiful). Parking for two cars on-site was a bonus. The house was very spacious and well equipped. We all loved it (ages 2 to 70=+).

Property Description

St Catherines House is one of Tenby's finest residences, celebrating majestic views of Castle Beach and St Catherines Island. Direct beach access and ideal for family gatherings and special occasions.

  • Built in 1843, this magnificent property is the first and largest of six Grade 2 Georgian mansion houses fronting Lexden Terrace. This imposing house has 8 bedrooms, sleeping 16 guests.
  • You cannot fail to be impressed by this architectural gem, transporting you back to the style and elegance of a bygone era. It has been transformed into a stunning property by fabric designer Ruth Moser.
  • With private parking inside the gated entrance, you feel you have arrived at possibly one of Wales' finest seaside homes.
  • St Catherines House retains many of the original period details, celebrating the Georgian style - Ornate ceilings, a grand sweeping staircase, imposing fireplaces, Welsh oak floorboards, and wonderful interior detailing (servants bells and secret cupboards). There is a study too, packed with books and games to keep your whole party entertained.
  • However, it is the grand shuttered rising sash windows that will command your greatest attention as you enter each of the beautiful rooms.
  • Each window frames an unforgettable view, providing you with a front row seat to the most stunning scenery the South Pembrokeshire coast has to offer.
  • When you think that this cannot be topped, step out onto your private lawn and terrace, chiselled into the cliff side with a castellated wall, and soak up the most enviable vista imaginable. Dine alfresco against the backdrop of the Napoleonic fort of St Catherines Island and the blue flag Castle Beach.
  • Wind your way down the stone steps to a further lower private terrace, or access directly through a discreet passageway from the lower-floor housekeeper's kitchen. Then step out onto the sands of Castle Beach, through your very own private gate. It simply doesn't get any better!
  • No better place for families and friends to meet for those milestone birthdays!
