Why we recommend Swn y Mor...

Trefin holiday cottage to rent Pembrokeshire Wales near Porthgain & Coastal Path.

About Swn y Mor
Traditional Pembrokeshire stone cottage in the hilltop village of Mathry
  • In an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park this traditional Pembrokeshire stone cottage is set down a quiet lane at the edge of the small coastal village of Trefin.
  • Once home to a sea captain, the characterful cottage is the end one in a row of 3 and has been furnished throughout with loving care and great attention to detail with lots of paintings and art work.
  • The cosy sitting room has an open fire and the bedrooms are a delight with lovely bed linen and a super kingsize bed in the master bedroom - glimpses of the sea and coast from the main bedrooms, kitchen and garden.
  • There is a separate sun room with a comfy sofa and chairs overlooking the pretty cottage garden - a lovely place to relax in, get away from it all and simply while away the time!
About The Area
Trefin & Aberfelin Cove
  • Trefin has a family friendly pub - The Ship Inn - serving locally caught fish.
  • A short walk away is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Aber Felin, a small, shingle and sandy cove with rock pools overlooked by the ruins of historic Melin Trefin Mill - the subject of the poem 'Melin Trefin' by Arch Druid Crwys one of the most famous poems in the Welsh language.
Pembrokeshire Coastal Path
  • This is a wonderful base from which to explore the Coastal Path - west to Porthgain, the Blue Lagoon and Abereiddi and east to Abercastle, Abermawr and Pwllderi.
  • The Coastal Path is perhaps at its most spectacular along this rocky stretch of coast - wild and wonderful in the autumn and winter gales, strewn with wild flowers and alive with bird song during the spring and summer.
Venture Jet, St Davids
  • Thrilling wildlife adventures to Ramsey Island and inshore islands to look for dolphins, whales and other marine wildlife. Experience specialised jet manoeuvres into caves, through over falls and around canyons and sea cliffs.
Strumble Shuttle Bus passes close by Trefin cottage
  • The Strumble Shuttle - a 'hail & ride coastal bus service' ideal for walkers, stops in the village 3 times a day during the summer months.
Abercastle, Porthgain & Mathry
  • Nearby are Abercastle, once a busy little port, the small fishing harbour of Porthgain with 'The Shed' Bistro and the famous Sloop Inn and the hilltop village of Mathry with its family friendly Farmers Arms (good pub food), ancient church and excellent tearoom Siop Fach also selling antiques and collectables.
Square & Compass
  • There is a filling station and well stocked Spar mini-mart and pub at Square & Compass (1 mile inland ) and St Davids, the smallest cathedral city in Britain with art/craft galleries, tea rooms, restaurants and shops and the small market town of Fishguard are both within an easy drive.
TYF St Davids
  • A choice of thrilling activities awaits you, canoeing, coasteering, sailing, surfing and lots more. Activity days available for children and for families to enjoy.
Peter's Fresh Fruit & Veg, St Davids
  • Stock up on excellent local produce - quality produce and charming old fashioned service.
Ivybridge Spa, Goodwick
  • Pamper yourself in a world of relaxing treatments and revitalising luxury.
Rock Fishing, Strumble Head
  • Keen fisher folk will enjoy fishing from the rocks at Strumble Head where they may catch mackerel on float tackle, sharks, congers, huss, pollack and wrasse. Tight lines!
Scolton Manor Park & County Museum, Haverfordwest
  • Do visit this award winning county museum & visitors centre. Interesting objects are on display in the Victorian manor house, stable block, carpenters workshop, blacksmiths forge and the landscaped grounds are perfect for family fun and woodland walks.
Family Fun
  • Enjoy exciting days out at West Wales Karting, Folly Farm, Blue Lagoon Water Park, Heatherton Sports Park or Manor House Wildlife Park.
Enjoy year round holidays in this characterful stone cottage in the hilltop village of Mathry in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
